| Did you try another hard reset?
Had you used Jacksprat to modify the rom?
Try a warm reset as well (hold up as you push the reset pin) |

| I think you press and hold the page up button while pressing the the hard reset. This will erase all of your data but it should allow you to get in. This is how I remember fixing mine and my wifes. Also if the battery is completely dead you'll need to charge it before the above option will work.

| JackAxe, you are wrong:
Reset + PageUp = WarmReset: Don't load extentions/hacks
Reset + Power = Hardreset: Factory default
Reset = Softreset: Erase nothing
When I had this error I had to do a true hardreset. Or just let the battery drain

| Hard reset fixed mine as well and should fix it unless he modified the rom with Jacksprat. |

| HOLD wouldn't do this...mine did it once, too, and I had to do a hard reset as well (reset + power button) |

#9 | | Guest | I think many, many many people are confused as to what the terms soft reset, warm reset, and hard reset really mean. Every time I see someone write something like "CF card caused HARD RESET!!!" I have to wonder, ya know? I feel like asking, "so when you did this 'hard reset,' tell me exactly what you did." I pretty much expect them to say they actually had to use their reset pin I mean, a soft reset is that one you hit on the screen, right?! LOL | |

| Let me be the first to ask, were you using AIM ver. 1.1
It is a known program to cause looping hard resets.
Simply do a soft reset, use mcfile to delete all AOL and AIM associated databases, and then soft reset again. if aim is/was your problem, it's gone now. Delete it forever and install Verichat.
If Aim is not your problem, you have to think about what applications you recently downloaded or used. |

| I've been in this situation many times before. My quick and easy solution is a hard reset. Because of a lot of confusions about different type of resets, Tanker Bob has written a primer on this subject in his site. Of course it makes restoring easy if you do MSBackup regularly as HotSync doesn't fully restore the mirror image of your RAM.

| Soft Reset: pushing in the reset button on the back. Kind of like restarting Windows.
Warm Reset: new one on me. Apparently holding in reset button and pushing the "page up" button? Restarts but disables hacks.
Hard Reset: holding reset and pressing power until the question appears: "Do you want to erase all data?" Resets machine back to factory settings. Better hope you've synced recently. |
