| I think they are really too late adding that. Resco Explorer allows you to do that and click the file and open into DocsToGo. They should have had that long time ago.
Now PPT is definately going to be the catch. That's pretty cool.

| I listened to the show BEFORE it was announced
I still do not think DtG 9.0 is going to make me upgrade. Version 6 is doing fine for me.

I agree that Resco Explorer and even Palm's Files application can do that, but I'm willing to bet that most Palm owners aren't running a file manager and haven't loaded the Files application if it didn't come default on the device. (It's on the LifeDrive, but you have to install it on the Treo 700p.) It is my feeling that more people will use the DataViz file browser than a separate file manger.

Aaaahh...someone figured out the full path and naming convention!! The podcast file name will likely be changing with show 100. I just have to double-check with Reggie and Joel first.

| BREAKING NEWS: Creator will port WordLogic to Palm OS, under condition. My apologies for being off topic, but this is too important for the community to not mention.
-----------------------------------------------------
I have been in contact with a the CEO of WordLogic.com for many years, trying to convince him (more like nagging, but ok...) to port their WordLogic text entry software to Palm OS. Today I got a response which lays out the guidelines to their approval. Here is my email:
==============
"Hi xxxxxxxxxxx,
Thanks for your interest in WordLogic - at this point no, there is no
Palm version although there is a PC and a Tablet version available
at this point. I think that if we received a large order (500+ units)
then we would build it quickly. We just secured a 200,000 unit order
for the PocketPC so you can see we would sit on that side. Again,
thanks for your help.
Thanks,
Mark
==============
Guys, WordLogic IS the best ever keyboard / text predicting software ever made for a handheld. Palm has to be told about and try to get into a license negotiation with WordLogic.com.
If ANYONE here is from Palm Inc. or has any way of passing along this message to someone at Palm Inc., please do it. It is in everyone's top interest to get this amazing program ported to Palm OS. |

| Vampy thanks for posting this. I'm going to have to try this out on my UMPC. I was using it last night and tap typing on the onscreen keyboard and thought "this sucks", WordLogic looks like it's just what I was looking for. |

Alan G | Yeah, but it was only on Friday someone was smart enough to figure it out and post the link (in the thread on podcast 97 since we did not have a 98 yet ).

| The plan was that I would post the show the server before I left and I would include the show notes. Then, during the week, the post would be made that made the show visible. I guess folks got tied up and I was cut off from making the site updates myself.

| So you pulled on your Treo 700p with out disconnecting the cord, and that damaged the athena connector? I can't belive Palm made such a "strong" cord and such a "weak" connector. I did that a lot with my Clie, and all that happened was the cord falling off! |

As far as I can tell, yes, that is what happened. Something on the Athena connector was damaged. I couldn't tell if it was a pin on the connector or the connection at the top of the Athena connector where it is connected to the motherboard. I was able to charge the Treo, just not HotSync it. Using the same cable, I was able to HotSync my Tungsten T5 and LifeDrive. Clearly, the computer and the cable where not the issue here. I took the Treo down to a Sprint/Nextel repair center (telephone cusomter service was closed on Saturdays and Sundays) took it apart [that's a rant for another day--needless to say I was ticked off that this kid wasted an hour of my time and did nothing for me] and, I kid you not, told me, "Yep. It looks new in there." WFT?!
Anyway, I called the customer support center on Monday, they sent me a new (not referbed) Treo 700p. After using Resco Back to move my data from the "old" Treo to the replacement Treo, I was able to use the same cable to HotSync the new Treo.
I can't explain it. It really must have been on of those freak things that you get insurance for and are glad that you have it when something bad goes down. I really didn't think that I pulled the Treo that hard. As a matter of face, the cable never fully disconnected, which, could have been the cause of the problem because I pulled the Treo away on an angle. Anyway, I have a new Treo and everything is working well.
