| View subway.PRC On my old palm, I had a file NYC_subway_map.PRC
When I selected it, I would get a bright, color, pan-able map of the NYC subway system.
When I tried to run this on my TX, and the palm does of reset. My guess is I need some sort of viewer for this, but its just a guess.
any thoughts?
thanks

| Is this program Palm OS5 compatible? Might want to check with the developer or from the source where you downloaded it. |

| How did you get a color map on a Palm V? In any case Goonie is correct, make sure your app is compatible with the OS 5 NVFS.

| It probably uses some PalmOS tricks which make NVFS crash...
The changes between PalmOS5, and then PalmOS5+NVFS added lots of extra layers between programs and hardware making things MASSIVELY more complicated than they were in the 'good old days'. The upshot is that a lot of the more.. 'creatively' coded programs from the v3/v4 era just won't work
I remember having to drop quite a lot of programs and utils when I jumped from my T665 to my TH55, and that was just the jump from PalmOS4 to OS5! The jump from OS3.5 to OS5-NVFS would be even more bumpy! |

| The way I view the NY subway map on the TX is by using PalmPDF. It's bright, color, and pan-able too. (If you get grayscale, try doing a soft reset. PalmPDF does grayscale when there's not enough memory.) You may need UDMH as well. I remember PalmPDF 1.3 used to crash when I load this subway map, until I activated UDMH. | The color was on my old Clie, but the app also worked on my old Palm V as well. The creator web site no longer exists. The palmpdf is an option, but it is dramatically slower or flexible. Its probably the OS version causing the problem, but I thought someone might have some miracle solution.
thanks for the input |
