| Wow, what a cool mod! How many hours of Bluetooth/WiFi you get? Does it work fine? Any battery problems, such as over-charging?

| Just to let u all know when I get to Cali and get my PC plugged in (on old crappy lappy lol) I have both a 1200MAH and 1500MAH (1500MAH batt is in the clie) and they both work (1500MAH needed to be re-wrapped with a little tighter skin ) however it works like a charm and i get double the time, when I get to cali (around the 2nd) I will definitely post pics and the Batt tester statistics...
And of course if I can get them for discount ill be selling them to those who want them (will also be finishing up my long awaited EB40 replacement project after JAmerican tests and approves for me :P )

| Yeah, I need a new battery for my UX50 as well. I have the spare EB40, but it's not enough. |

| I've been reading this thread with interest as after 3 years my UX50's battery life has finally got to the point where I can't use it as much as I need to. I have an EB50 but carrying it around can be annoying.
So I have just bought an 1100 mah iPod 3rd gen upgrade battery. I'll try fitting it when it arrives and let you guys know how I get on. I chose this battery as they seem to be easy to get hold of and pretty cheap so if I can't get it to fit it won't really matter. |

Is your 1500mah battery the same one as the above mentioned iPod battery?
Did you find them for a discount yet?

though i have to say its amazing i have clearly tripled or quadrepled my battery life with a very easy mod!

| this is my solution for all clie with bad battery : try to get a big capacity polymer li ion battery, it must thin enough, with a side of length, width smaller than side of backside of clie! now , you remove the pcb board on original clie's battery, the pcb board on new battery must remove too, then solder a new battery cell with clie's PCB board! after all you must cut a backside of you clie a area with side of your new battery and use glue to attach new battery with new backside attach new battery to clie board > check clie =work good==> use some thin mica panel (width= depth of battery)to make a new case for battery==> use paint to make you new clie nice !
sorry about i learn E not well i will try apply to my clie nx80V first and take some picture

| I have successfully fitted the 1100mah battery I ordered. It was a bit of a job as the battery is really 1/2 mm too thick for the inside of the UX. I removed part of the battery compartment wall to get it in and with the case closed I have about a 1/2 mm gap on the right hand side where that battery is. You have to look pretty closely to notice the gap though.
After I refitted the casing the cradle charging contacts didn't quite touch the contacts on the back of the UX. So I put a small blob of solder on the contacts on the charging cradle and it now charges properly.
Here is the link to the battery I bought : http://www.mdsbattery.co.uk/shop/pr...epartmentID=189
The battery lasts for ages, so I am delighted to have my UX back in service. I have yet to see how long it really will last though. |
