well i have been busy playing with my new camera T30 for the past few days and its amazing. its a very thick if u compare it to the super slim T7. the size is due to its 7.2MP resolution compared ot the T7's 5.1MP. the size is also due to its big battery which lasts 3.2X longer than the T7. (240minutes vs T7's measly 75min). its good for long journeys or road trips where you won't be able to find a power outlet. the camera is slightly faster than the T7 which is an improvement. quality wise, its a step back because the T7 was made of pure stainless steel while the T30's quality feels like plastic over a spray of metal, i am not sure if its metal or not but it sure doesn't feel like metal.
sony has done a good job this time, it has improved on most of its flaws on the T series predecessors. it takes better pictures at night compared to the T7 thanks to a higher ISO 1000. the flash is also alot stronger than the T7. pictures are much more sharper and able to capture more details(will post pics later)
my favorite part of the camera is the super steady anti blur technology now incorporated in sony's camera. i think its the second one, the T9 was the first. i love it, its great for people with shakey hands and itried moving my hand while taking the pic and while my hand was moving and the object was moving. it captures very still pictures with none of those "blurry" things when your hands shake or fast movement. the reason i didn't get the T9 was because it wasn't much different than the T7 and i heard that the T30 was coming out in July (that was back in January where sony previwed the T30 in the electronics fair.
you can also zoom in and out when you are recording movies which is a plus plus for the T30, the T7 is not able to zoom in and out during recording. movie recording is a lot smoother than the T7.
sony's T line of camera is still made in Japan. although it bundled wtih the CD, i never use it because my comptuer is Vaio and i jsut drag and drop pictures from teh emmeory stick onto my D drive.
like all sony products, its still very sleek and slim like its computers although when compared with T7, the size increase is massive. its an improvement in all aspects of sony's predecssors but came at a cost, increase in size. the weight is still manageable, i think its 20-30g heavier than the T7.
i guess the pros of the T30 are : very long battery life (excellent i would sell), 7.2MP camera which is more than enough, very fast shutter speed ( you won't miss that kodak moment), stylish, high ISO, excellent flash.
Cons: theres still red eye when taking pics at night, thick(but can easily slip into the pocket, its manageable), price
