ya that one is a good one, supposedly a aa battery is 3000mah, so 3v is 6000mah, but then you could have to boost 3v up to about 5 so lets just say u boost it to 6 (u wont but it is easy math) so then it would only be 3000mah without internal resistenace and crap like that.

you could get a couple of good recharges though.

and please keep us updated on this, and give us some pics please!

wiat, no offense, what does this thread have to do with you posting pics of your m515

and usb charging is slow, especially computer usb to zire 72 usb, computer usb to zire 72 power connector not too bad.

techno nerd, its prertty simple.
4AA BATTERIES (or 5AA RECHARGABLES) ->stabilizer 5V (LDO!!!) -> Palm's AC slot
should work. it charges sloooow but works.

wrong and wrong.

you need a minimum of 7.2v of power going into a LM7805 5v regulator, to get 5v, and what you said with 5 or 4aa's would give you 6v. and also on a lm7805 while cheap, dissapate the 2.2v or more off as heat. so it is very unefficeint, spelled that wrong, and i think i spelled dissapate wrong. while using a voltage booster it is more efficeint because nothing is being expelled as heat. you can read up on lm7805's here. http://www.instructables.com/ex/i/B...C23001143E7E506

yet, 4 or 5 aa's would supply more amps although some being taken away, i think it may have more, yet it woudl be more bulky, 2 can fit in a mini altoids tin, 4 can not.

i belong to a electronics forum called www.dutchforce.com

you could drop this question there, PM/IM/email me and i can drop the question there.

Yes, you are right, but if you need an emergency charger, you can use my scheme. Yes, it will be turning much of the energy into heat and nothing more, but again, its a cheap and emergency charger. On mine I spent about $1, excluding the batteries.

Hmm i have a Zire 72s and powered USB, but it does not charge it unless you have it off. and it is insanly long. If you use programs like Card Export you battery will die while connected if you dont have it plugged into the wall as well, your best bet is probably just to have it well charged when you leave the house.. or try turning the brightness all the way down, i find that is an awesome way to save hours of power. also dont use the camera a lot (provided you do).. never the less.. try looking at charge packs for gameboys. They might work, although i have no idea at all
