after hardreset you have to start the shdc driver manually and confirm its pop up requester. then you have to start your backup program on the sdhc card to restore your tx. |

| Hi, I'm having a weird problem. I installed the ROM update when I first got my new (2nd) TX in the fall. Since then I've installed the Wifi Update so I installed the ROM update again today. Everything is fine except if I install FrameTX from back up or otherwise I can't use the bottom toolbar (with wifi, etc.). If I don't install Frame TX the bottom toolbar works.
Wait, I just thought of something. I have a program that replaces the Find button with a Home button. Could that be the problem?
Edit: Yeah, that was the problem. Sorry about that.

| Just a thank you to Dmitry for his custom ROM. I was ready to throw my T/X through a window - endless crashes, reboots, crashes. Works much better and faster now. Nice job! |

| Thank You. I just want to thank you Dimitri, as a previous poster said, I was about to throw away my TX - the WiFi ROM files had somehow become corrupted and the thing was in a cycle of restarts... after installing your rom and opening up the built in Mail app to access my GMAIL account, the wifi worked and on top of that all of the improvements you made on the system are exceptional. Great work bless you man!!! |

| Good job,
I 've got a T5 and i would like to do something similar. Can someone tell me if there is someting similar for the T5 ?
I've been able to :
1/extract the "Tungsten-T5*.pdb" files from the Tungsten T5 1.1 Updater.exe
2/put together "Tungsten-T5-os.*.pdb" files to make a zip file (same as Tx overflow.zip, but i have to edit manually the .zip file to delete some bytes from the start an the end of the file)
3/extract in a directory the files from the zip file, so i see what is in the "rom" (all the prc, pdb, images...), and the boot.conf file with [boot], [smallrom], [bigrom] and [additional] sections.
4/ ... ??? i don't know what to do to change things and rebuild the "Tungsten-T5-os.*.pdb" files. I'm pretty sure there is some md5 involved to (there's a "Tungsten-T5-os.md5.pdb" extracted from the step1).
I can rebuild some "Tungsten-T5-os.*.pdb" files but even with no changes there are not the same a the original ones (start and end of the file stripped/missing)
Please help me ...
Regards. |

| Okay, if anyone is still listening to this thread, I've put this off long enough. I'm going to install the WIFI update (TX_Security_Upgrade, which requires a hard reset.) so I can use WPA2 along with this Rom upgrade by Dmitry. I've backed up my TX with NVbackup. I use MySkin to replace the search button with the old home button. From reading the posts it appears that FrameTX is not compatible with the rom upgrade when the find button is replaced by the home button. Is there a particular order in which these updates should be done? Can they be done from a SDHC card? If I used NVbackup which claims to preserve my registrations, and I use it after the hard reset required by the WIFI update, will it undo the WIFI update? |
