| mobiVoIP for palm OS is officially out!! HOW ABOUT WALKIE TALKIE ON NX CLIE? I did some research on MobiVoip over the last week. I found out that the MCA 2 that CliePet has provided us is only "one way" which means that the mic is not supported.
In other words we Clie NX users could use MobiVoip but could never be heard by the other party, due to the mic not working with MCA 2.
I emailed CliePet and asked him about revising to include the mic and his reply had both bad and good news...
BAD- AFAIK that's a limitation of the NX/NZ lower level system
GOOD- With a little extra coding, they could make a "push to talk" walkie talkie
mode (like a real walkie-talkie)
Not ideal, but a possibility
I think this is a very interesting concept!!!!
Anybody else with me?

| its not a problem with "you" nx/nz owners, but for all sony clie's. its because clie's work in half duplex mode, so you cant record and playback at the same time. its got nothing to to with the audio library, but with hardware limitation.
reading mantragroup forums, im very sceptic for a clie version, since its was discontinued.

| Golalmo:
this is exactly what I am saying. It would be a walkie-talkie system.

| I'll have to check into this again, but when I was a beta tester, I had run into this problem and then found out that they hadn't implamented any support for built-in mics for any device at that point. I've been checking in on their progress now and then, but nothing has caught my eye so far saying that this has changed.

| Well, this post is due to a combination of direct dialogue with BOTH MantraGroup tech support and CliePet, so what I am after here is to see if there is enough user support to warrant a developer to take on this aspect of the project.
My thought was either Sharkey or Dmitry...
