| Installed TCPMP. . .What's Next? So how exactly do we get mp3's or videos playing on my TJ27? I installed TCPMP with all necessary codecs (I think) and it looks like it's trying to play music, but I hear nothing. Same goes for videos--video works but no audio.
Is that all she'll do? Surely not!

| Your TJ27 doesn't play music. Maybe you noticed the lack of an audio/headphone out, or the absence of polyphonic alarm or system sounds?
Check your manual, dude. Not only the Clie's manual, but also TCPMP's manual. The people really put in an effort into their documentation, so it's only fair you give it a shot first for yourself.

| OUCH! You must be in the manual writing business to get that bent out of shape over not reading the manual (that I don't have, except for the CD, which makes reading it even more unlikely.)
Besides, had I actually read that I still would have posted a thread asking if others had solved the mp3 problem with 3rd party software or other hacks. The darn thing has OS5.2.1, so maybe there's a possibility of using the CLIE Audio Remote (SA10?) that was originally designed for OS4.1 devices? I guess there would have to be an OS5 driver for it to work. . .and OS5 drivers do exist for lesser accessories like the GC10. . .so does anyone else know?

| There are some hacks, I think one of them is called "wavplayer" or similar, but the only device I ever got this to work on was an old Palm m100. Obviously, audio quality through the tiny tinny piezo "speaker" was abysmal.
I don't know how you could connect the audio remote, but this wouldn't solve the problem. The TJ27 lacks a sound chip to produce anything more than beeps. It's like a PC without a sound card. If you really need this, you have to upgrade to a TJ35 or TJ37. |
