| You know, it would have sounded better as...
"SplashMoney 4.09 for Palm OS"
Because it sounds like SplashMoney for Palm OS version 4.09, as in saying it is for Palm OS 4.09

| Hey all,
You can do all us Mac users a favour by going here and registering for interest in a Mac desktop for SplashMoney. Maybe then SplashData will finally get off their backside and do something about it (they haven't for the last 12 months).
It would get far more use on my Palm if I could use it on my Mac too.
Thanks,
Tim

| I tried a few money programs, including SplashMoney, and decided that UltraSoft Money is the best for me. The number one reason I say that is because UM is the only palm app that will sync directly with Microsoft Money. SplashMoney will not do that.

| And for the same reason I go with Pocket Quicken because it is the only one that syncs with Quicken. I think UltraSoft Money is an outstanding app. I wish it worked with Quicken as I really tried to switch to MS Money (bought it but returned it) a couple of years ago for that reason, but just did not like MS Money compared to Quicken. So in this rare case, my choice(s) is driven by the desktop application.
For those, and there are many, who want their financial management app to be solo on their PDA, there are a number of good products. I'm not sure how SplashMoney rates with its peers in that category. BTW, I bought SplashWallet years ago, which includes SplashMoney, but I've NEVER used it. I was mainly interested in SplashPhoto and SplashID.
I also am fearful that SplashData is about to go under or be bought out. They sold their Splashblog app recently, and that's the only app that has seen any serious development in the last six months or more. Their other products appear to be stagnant as far as development goes.

| I never ended up installing Quicken. Maybe I should give it a try someday soon.
But then again, if it aint broke, don't fix it.

But then again, if it aint broke, don't fix it. | You would probably run into the same thing I did . . . it's a huge learning curve going from one to the other. Between that and the annual reviews which continue to give the nod to Quicken by a hair, I'm content to stay where I am.

| I've been using SplashMoney for years and absolutely love it. I guess to each his own.

| I like splashmoney as a Palm Standalone app primarily because I can wireless syncronize it with my bank accounts. I do all my budgeting and planning on my Palm and it does a stellar job. I am, however, probably in the minority, as I use my PC primarily as an accessory for my TX rather than my TX as an accessory for my PC. My PC has a larger hardrive for storing audio/video and downloading torrents and using ReplayAV to record radio shows.
As for SplashMoney not being in active development, since SplashData just released this upgrade to SplashMoney I am not sure that is an accurate statement. |

I think the point was about the MAC desktop version of Splashmoney, splashdata made this work well with Splashid on MAC, but so far seem not to have even come up with a beta for Splashmoney (MAC) desktop... I wonder if the change of ownership will inject an increase in development / new products ???? here's to hoping

I originally registered Splashmoney and used it for a while, but I would alway like to have desktop usability for my accounts.... I then found and registered Adarian Money going through a torturous route syncing my palm with a PC to export the data out of Splashmoney to import into Adarian Money.... which I can now keep updated plus the fact Adaraian Money allows me to export QIF files to card which I can the import on the MAC desktop.... I know it's a bit round the houses but I just like to have a backups' backup on the desktop that I know is good and full screen view is good sometimes to spot my typos...

SplashMoney 4.09- March 17, 2006
Fixed bug that prevented user from editing the date on the desktop application
Currency conversion now works, when converting from base to foreign
Resolved an issue with nesting, duplicate dialogs in the report feature
Set Budget Amount now accepts decimal input
Class from split transactions is now transferred to the destination account
| I don't call that active development. Looks more like holding on for life! Get's their product in the update list at PG/Handango to generate a little cash flow.
