skinUI updated
skinUI has been updated to version 1.2.0.0. This adds a fix for text overlaying the title graphic on some imported skins.
Also the "Tweak" option had been added. This allows the user to change the colors in the skin right on the palm! update is free to all registered users and download is on the fornt page

| Too bad Dmitry didn't get a chance to fix the skinning of builtin apps issue with this release. It looks pretty good! |

I'm a newbie with skinUI so it's a lot of experimenting. I use Colorize to set themes and it would be really nice to have the RGB values showing so they could be set exactly.

Bob | I would prefer that over the sliding scales too, Dmitry! With several places (in the four pages) where you can change "background," it's impossible to set them all the same as is.

Must have forgot to add the automatic skin backup, since he was telling me about it yesterday.

| Startedto play with this seriously since wellsjs posted some screenshots of Agendus and found a small glitch. I don't know if this is a skinUI thing or an Agendus thing or just the way it is.
Using PR_Mako_Glass, if I tap and hold a day button in split view and then slide the stylus over another day and lift, both the current day and the tap and hold day letters disappear.

| I just tried to reproduce that and the day that I first taped/held's letter disappears, but the one I slid over to didn't. I'm not too concerned about it however, since these are not tap/hold function buttons in the first place. What I have noticed is that some popup windows in NetFront have buttons that don't show text, important ones, like "OK" and "Cancel."

| Just ran into a reset loop. Don't think I've ever had one. I was doing a lot of playing with skinUI, myKbd, and ZLauncher themes, looking at various combinations. I was in ZLauncher when my T3 reset itself and then kept looping on the Palm symbol. I had to hard reset to recover. Don't think I want to try and recreate that one and I don't know whose fault it was. It might have even been some other app entirely.
I don't expect any fixes, but this is a word of warning to make sure you have backups before doing a lot of playing. I'm glad I did.

| Uh, Bob, that's not the way it works here. The one who discovers a bug is responsible for reproducing it and narrowing it down!

| Believe me, I understand about reproducing bugs. I'm a software product manager in real life and have been in the software business for over 30 years. So that's what we ask our customers - for a reproducable test case.
But sometimes bugs aren't easy to reproduce and so the question is - has anyone seen this sort of thing before and did they have a clue as to what caused it. Sometimes it's something simple and sometimes not.

| SkinUI is still not skinning some components of builtins as well as other apps. Here are screenshots comparing skinui and palmrevolt using the same skin:
SkinUI/PalmRevolt
And here are screenshots using the cobalt skin trying to connect wifi from statusbar from within NetFront (notice NF is not skinned and wifi dialog is not skinned) and outside of NF - somehow NF is stopping skinning even though I don't have it defined in my per app config: |
