Hard reset--Hav Jack Flash--Clie screwed up

I had a fatal error, so I did a hard reset. Prior to this I had flash enable and Jackflash in internal memory. So when I hotsynced to install flash enable onto my MS supposedly I am supposed to do this to release flash, most of my apps and such were restored to my suprise due to this sync. So I didn't really do a flash enable, but i did enable it or rather click on it and it was activated, I didn't notice anything different or know if i even released flash. But when I went into jack flash I saw the programs that hotsync restored in ram and the same programs that I put in ROM was still in ROM. So I stupidly deleted the programs that were in ROM..I dunno if this was right thing to do.

My netfront was in flash too, and after this deletion..when I reinstalled netfront. It would not show up in launcher!! I can see the app in both filez and clie files. Now I can't surf web..I know I did something wrong. How do I fix my precious clie

Please remember that you need 6 to 8 megabytes free RAM for NetFront to install itself.

If you installed this last and don't have enough free RAM, then it won't go. You should also install System updates, WLAN drivers, and NetFront files first.

You should have a copy of FlashEnable on the MS. After a hard reset, use ClieFiles to copy FlashEnable to RAM, then run it before you do anything else. Then, you should restore your backup (or hotsync, though a backup is much more reliable).

Rod is more knowledgeable concerning Jack Flash, he gives good advice!

I had mentioned Flash enable in another post, also Flash safe, not sure what the difference is though.

JackSafe and Flash enable are utilities from Brayder that basically due the same thing:  (1) recover the contents of the flash after a hard reset or battery failure, and

(2) allow JackFlash to be deleted from the device and still use the contents of Flash.

Which utility is used depends on the PDA and the type of flash it utilizes. In the case of the Clie NX, Flash Enable must be used as Jack Safe is not compatible.
