backup buddy question

I've just bought and set-up Backup Buddy for my T5. All seems fine: I've backed up the main memory and the internal card. What I'm wondering is whether if I were abroad and lost or wrecked my T5, but had the card in safely tucked away elsewhere, could I just buy a new Palm (I guess it would have to be a TX), pop in the external card with Backup Buddy on it, and just restore on to the new Palm.

Great question - for BlueNomad. I do not know if this would work. My guess is that your backup for the T5 is specific to this unit and that BBVFS would not recognize the new TX. Let us know what BlueNomad says to your question.

It should work for same devices (T5 to T5 or TX to TX), but different ones (T5 to TX)? Let us know what BlueNomad say...

Yes, that would work. I have trashed my 650, and when I got the replacement, I used BB to do the restore. It should work fine.
