| Yes it works quite well. ITs worth it if you REALLY dont have enough RAM and you depend on Avantgo on news everyday. |

| Sorry to all but I was not impressed with iSilo and AvantGo may have its issues right now it still does its job and provides me the news with no effort involved. I decided to not use avantage and just use AvantGo w/MS support.

| I dumped Avantgo once I got a MS and opened myself up to the world beyond 2megs of news and info everyday. I'm liberated!

Hear, hear! I just got HandStory after having AvantGo for a few years, and working with iSilo for the past six months. Got tired of AvantGo's ads and crippled sites, and while iSilo worked very well, it was too much to maintain. And HandStory works beautifully reading the clips off the stick.
While you can't do much about non-PDA formatted sites with HandStory (you can if you learn their scripting language), works *very* well with any PDA/mobile formatted site.

| I love Avantgo. Talking about the 2MB limit, I haven't even filled it up. I simply don't need to read more than 2MB of stories and articles each day. |

| I just installed Avantage on a trial basis. Now, I haven't synched anything yet, but I get the impression that Avantage really doesn't save me any room. To read AvantGo pages, it looks like it copies all the files from my memory stick into RAM.
And, it looks like, it doesn't "clean up" after itself. In other words, when I read a web page, the copied files stay in RAM until I physically move them again to the memory stick.
And, I suspect, that when I synch, the AvantGo files will be in RAM, not the memory stick and I have to physically move them again.
It looks like the only thing that Avantage buys me is a quick way to free up 1 Meg of very temporary space in RAM if I suddenly need it for some reason.
I'm ready to jettison AvantGo completely if I knew how to synch my customized Yahoo! PDA page with iSiloX.

| I pitched Avantgo for HandStory last week and haven't looked back. HandStory can load the news (and images/docs/ebooks) directly to the card with no user intervention. Just update, Hotsync, and read. It also integrates directly into Windows and Internet Explorer for easy conversion of content. iSilo looks slightly better and produces smaller files, but only loads its data to RAM and then you have to move it to the card yourself. For ease of use and consistent results, I recommend checking out HandStory Suite. I wrote a review of it on PDA Avenue. |
