I didn't see any links to the Desktop installer in the original post, so I thought I'd ask and motion for the desktop alternatives (for Linux and Mac) to be included as important resources for those that may need them.

| Kosh: I appreciate the link. I already knew about it and got the full ISO. My comment was more aimed at editing the original message and including the information there clearly. As it's supposed to be a "summary" message I thought it wouldn't hurt to put it there in text specifically.
In a different thread I did ask for what should one do, these days, to make the latest version of Palm Desktop to work with the Clie (which has been answered) because my ViaMichelin software refused to install with the original CD one (gotten from sonyclieorg.org) so I was really looking for the latest version and in the end I realized I had to go with the official Desktop from Palm or it wouldn't work.
In the end nothing worked anyway, so I installed Viamichelin manually after jumping through a lot of hoops. Now I'm using it and it doesn't work correctly, the bluetooth connection drops a lot, I searched for that too and the recommendation is to delete the BT Cache file, which avoids the problem for only 10 minutes. I'm still looking for another solution to that.
Thanks anyway |

| Hmmm... Anyone else having trouble getting to Jamerican's forums? I need to get some of the software he was offering but his site seems to be down... If you are out there Jamerican I would be happy to help you with hosting or at least mirror those downloads that were so helpful to us UX users! :-) |

| This looks like a very useful thread.
I just bought a PEG-UX50/E. I assume the E is for European. Where are the European drivers and updates?
The http://www.clie-link.com site doesn't seem to have any downloads at all and if I go to the global site and admit that I live in the UK it takes me to http://www.sony.co.uk/support which only allows me to choose the SJ or NX series Clies.
I tried the downloads on the US site ( http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/sw...Type=Everything )
But they don't appear to be for my version of the PEG-UX50. In particular, the CLIÉ Update Wizard asks me to identify which version I have from the letter that follows the / in the model number. I have the PEG-UX50/E but the update wizard only lets me choose U H or G. |

| Thanks. I wrote a post last night saying I'd found the updates for the UK model hidden in the Compatibility/Connectivity section of clie-link.com (great bit of labelling by Sony there) but it seems I never pressed the Submit button...
There isn't a European version of the CLIÉ Update Wizard though. Does it do anything special, or does it just install the other updates? |

| Thanks Kosh for the link and yes it hasn't been updated since 05 but I still keep an eye on all things PDA.
I sold the PPC (to many crashes) and work "may" issue one.
Thanks again http://geocities.com/amux50/index.html |
