| Yes, I got the same crap from Palm for a different problem. Looks like they will require you to get your Palm back to factory state to guarantee everything works as advertised. I give up!

| Don't give up
just reset your LifeDrive
install your apps, one by one, do a backup after each new apps
Here is my LifeDrive now (in the order they were installed):
Resco Backup
Power48
Documents To Go 8
Splash MOney
Splash ID
Pocket Tunes Deluxe
AgendusPro
AvantGo
SlovoEd
Resco Explorer
TimeTracker
(No reset until that point)
Then I installed UDMH, LD started failing
1) fail when I open a PDF with Docs to Go and I have UDMH enabled
so I restored my backup then, and learned the lesson
Do not use UDMH, unless I want to use Power48 at that moment
Disable UDMH after that
Seems to work fine
Today I was using WiFI, it resetted
However IR wasn't lost, and keyboard was working fine |

| Hey are you still having problem with infrared?
I've noticed that to test if your IR works, you have to reset your device, and then test it again
You can have IR working 100% nice, but when you reset, it can be lost
So if you have your Palm LifeDrive with the IR working and you think everything is working ok, think again
Yesterday I installed all my apps again on my LifeDrive because Agendus Pro 11 was making my LD reset, so I stayed with Agendus Pro 10
I can't recall if my device had any resets, so today I resetted it, just to test if IR works after the reset
It doesn't
So know I don't know why my LD lost it's IR capabilities
Seems like I'd have to Soft Reset my device, install on app one by one, reset after each install, and test IR
What a pain in the *** |

| I mean even if you restore the following files:
Bluetooth Prefs Backup
Buletooth Trusted Devices
ConnectionMgr50DB
Net Prefs
NetworkDB
WiFi*
And you reset your device, and IR works, think again
You have to reset it again, just to make sure your device's IR works after the reset
Having backups is so important in the LifeDrive, they should give you RescoBackup as a compliment for buying such a shitty device |

| Hi xbaez,
I see you are still at it. I have given up and now live exclusively with BT. Like you, I can have a working IR and after a reset, it no longer works. I cannot trace a pattern or even do an apps by apps install, because I still lose IR with different software. I'm lost really.

| How do I update the wireless keyboard driver?
I have a very stable LifeDrive, the problem was Agendus Pro 11, now it works like a charm
The problem was the my secure digital card sort of 'formatted' itself while using Pocket Tunes |

What I usually do is install one app at a time, then reset my device, just to work IR works again
I have a LifeDrive that is very stable, and IR works ok, if you ever get a reset, then it's time to test IR, reset, and test it again |

I tried that "updated" universal wireless keyboard driver when i was setting up my new LD... but it was malfunctioning on the keyboard.... everytime i type something, even though the charcater i typed appeared, the swipe-up DA appears... and i couldnt type properly....
so i erased it and installed the driver that came with the keyboard instead, and everything has been working fine from then on...
so much for an "updated" driver... i wonder if i had to install the old one before installing the updated driver..
Anyway, i am also experiencing problems with the IR.... not that it stops working... but it always resets when i go to the MEDIA app with my LD on my keyboard... it resets and the system log says the reset was related to the IR, something like the IR port could not be opened...
And thank you for this thread... i was thinking of getting UNCACHE.... but this thread changed my mind...
thank you for the heads up! |

| "with my LD on my keyboard"
Do you mean a physical keyboard or the input keyboard? |
