| Battery permanently reads 100% On to day 3 of owning my first Palm...
I noticed this morning that my battery meter is STILL reading 100%...
While I'd love to believe it, I spent atleast an hour last night online via bluetooth checking email, sending/receivin SMS's etc. It's been this way since I had to do a hard reset yesterday to fix a constant looping crash.
Anyone else run in to this problem? |

| Just keep watching... The battery life on the TX for most is VERY good, so it may not be a problem at all. |

| Shouldn't you be happy of that? (Just kidding...)
Please state your model (which Palm you have, so people may tell you the nomal battery life you should expect), and try using it longer and see what happens. |

| It's a T|X (hence being posted in the T|X-series forum)
Had to do another hard-reset again today after another looping reset (NVBackup to the rescue this time and back going again) but still showing 100% battery...
I'll just use it a bit off the charger for the next day or two and see if it drops ever or if it finally just turns off |

| My TX battery can take ages to drop from the initial 100%, I would be more worried about your re-occuring reset loop.
I have only done 1 hard reset on my TX in over 6 months and that was because I just wanted to test my backup strategy (thanks to Pruss and NVBackup it was fine ). |

| I tracked down the reset-looping to AOL Instant Messenger client. I saw that there was one for download from aol.co.uk and used that instead of another newer app since well, I didn't want to pay to IM...
The moment I would try to reset after installing that it would be dead forever. Of course I found this out by luck because it was one of the apps I never assumed would be the cause...
So now I'm happy with my TX, running like a champ.
Oh, and the battery meter started reading properly finally, sitting at 98% |

| My TX will stay at 100% for quite while before starting to "run down" The meter seems to decrease with increasing speed on my unit. Not a train smash though. I can usually make it through the day if I start off with 60% or more (I use my Palm a lot during the day)
Thankfully I can charge it throught the USB cable if I have to while away from my charger.

| If you charged it for more than 3 hours I think it was not a problem at all. When the battery meter was at its full I think it will took sometime before you can notice the meter dropping. |

Most rechargeable batteries such as Lithium, NiMH, etc. have that kind of behavior. With alkalines, the battery voltage decreases steadily over time, so it is easier to guage. The rechargeables maintain a high level of energy before dropping off at a rather rapid pace.
A pretty bad graph is here: http://www.component-shop.co.uk/htm..._explained.html
but it may give you an idea of why the rechargeables are tougher to guage.
