| UPnP Client Hi,
Having just upgrade to a PalmTX I would like use WiFi to connect to my Twonky Vision Media server to stream music. Does anyone know of any software that will support UPnP?
Otherwise I have to set up a Shout Cast server as well.
Thanks

| Still on the eternal quest.
Realised that I had started this thread and through it wad rude not to reply, so for the long delay.
Anyway I have a UPnP media server running in my house that feeds MP3's etc to a DLink DSM-320 box connected to my home theatre system. I would now like to listen to these MP3's from my Palm.
Shoutcast would not really be an option as it would not allow me to select the song that I wanted, just listen to whatever the server was pushing out. One benefit of the UPnP server is that you can create playlists that are recognised by the client end.
I have WiFile installed and can listen to a track OK, but you do not have access to volumn control using WiFile and it will not play playlists.
My be I am best to 'encourage' PTunes to build a plugin for there player |

Years back I used NetFront + SlimServer + PocketTunes + Sony TH55 to do this. Fire NetFront and create the playlist on the server and then listen to it in PocketTunes as streaming MP3.

| Slimserver is also the best solution that I have found. When set with the handheld theme, it works a treat

| I also just started using Slimserver and it does a great job. I use Pocket Tunes Deluxe. I have yet to try and figure out how to control my play lists from my TX. For the moment, though, I am happy.

Thanks for this and the other posts. So basically you use a web browser to access playlist on your PDA which then play though Pocket Tunes. This measn that I should have everthing I need. I have TwinkyVision media serevr running on my PC, Blazer and Pocket Tunes Delux loaded on my Palm T|X.
I am assuming that I need to create a webpage of the playlists and when I click on the links they will play in Pocket Tunes. Is this correct? |
