Hi
Mine went smoothly and every software backup to the LD then two days later hangon whilst it was in the cradle after a hotsync.
soft, warm, hard reset did not help it simply dead, full charging wait some days but nothing , waiting for a refurb soon from P1.

There *is* something in your third party apps that's causing something.

Keep us updated. And I'm sorry again to hear this.

J,

I know you are right, I really do, but the thought of a full hard reset and reinstalling everything again (including 250 mp3s, 40 ebooks, ~800Mb of movie files etc etc) is so unappealing, i am going to try to find the little bugg3r by detective work...I have resco explorer on board (there really is no hope for me) and I have a candidate but that may all go down the toilette by tomorrow (or indeed, the next time I turn it on..)...stay tune d for the next exciting (!) episode of 'Desperate LifeDrives'...

LOL @ Desperate LifeDrives...

Have you considered that maybe Resco Explorer is causing everything? I don't use Resco Explorer that's why I'm thinking this.

only installed RE yesterday so its not that. I now suspect IconsPlus im afraid.

here is the experiment.

Iconsplus intalled but using the normal icons (ie no 3rd party iconset installed)

Open blazer, say 'no' to the 'turn on wifi' prompt. Exit Blazer, press-and-hold Home button - no problem...repeat, no problem...etc

Now, activate an iconset (in this case Leslie's crystal iconset but this makes no difference).

Open blazer, say 'no' to the 'turn on wifi' prompt. Exit Blazer, press-and-hold Home button - Bang, reset everytime. Memorymgr.c line 3771 etc - but `home button press is ok after reset, just not after opening Blazer

Deactivate 3rd party iconset in Iconsplus

Open blazer, say 'no' to the 'turn on wifi' prompt. Exit Blazer, press-and-hold Home button - no problem...repeat, no problem...etc

its weird but it is absolutely reproducible. Ill contact the developer and see what they say...IP is turned off for the time being though...what a palaver!!

Maybe, because I have never ever lost my prefs on my LD. Never! Did I say never? .

But hey SOS no need for a full hard reset! Why you'd wanna do that?

just because doing it this way is probably quicker than spending days looking for corrupted prefs and/or other dbs (and also bad sectors on the hd) etc etc..

Good to know that it's narrowed down to Iconsplus. Thanks for the warning. (Then again, I don't use any apps that use icons anymore.)

I agree with the hard reset. It's also what I do to make sure I'm not missing anything. Besides that, there's a nice feeling knowing that I'm starting fresh.

Oh that's not what I meant! Just do a quick hard reset leaving all your HD stuff there! Works wonderfully with Update 2, i do it like twice a week (j/k).

What I meant was no need for a full HD wipe!

Hi, I know what you meant! I did a 'quick' hard reset at the weekend and re-installed the RAM stuff leaving the HD alone. This is one of the greatest things about the 2.0 update...

I intalled the update and everything went smoothly for me. The unit performs better as the palm site described.

I should add here that the developers of iconsplus are unable to reproduce the issue. I have truned it off and have had no resets since so there is a conflict in my setup. Most likley it seems is a combination of two or more of Zlauncher/myskin/iconsplus (along with Blazer possibly)...Not sure ths cost of iconsplus is worth starting from scratch though...

I posted here ages ago that my green light had dissappeared after the update.. Its now back..

All I did was disable & enable the 'Alarm Led' option in the power prefs it seems ok now!

Regards

Paul.
