| UX-50 Parting out!! Alright, I found my old UX50. But, it seems like bits of the motherboard has seen its days. It does not power up, does not charge.
However, I have swapped bits and bits between mine and my friend's UX and I know that the only thing broken IS the motherboard. So, here's a list of what is good to salvage:
- brand new UX50 replacement battery STILL IN THE BOX!! (I ordered it to swap out the old battery, but seeing that it doesn't even charge means I didn't even bother popping the new batt in.)
- (gone) MS-Pro cardslot + cable
- (gone) Camera module (no flex cable)
- mint condition LCD panel (yes, that means digitizer too)
- (gone) Keyboard sensors + buttons
- (gone) COMPLETE scratchless casing (except power button, has a few scratches)
- (gone) jog dial module
- I even have the original "CLIÉ" strap.....
I saw a bunch of recent posts on this board and I thought the best thing for this clie was to offer the parts to you guys. e-mail me everything you want to know, and pictures are available upon request!

| um.... kind of..... well, first things first. you HAVE to remove the tape that tapes the USB-power cable and camera cable together. This is CRUCIAL!!! otherwise the camera cable is just going to snap CLEANLY into half like mine!!! After removing the tape, i believe there are 2 - 3 screws that hold the camera module down.... they are right along the edge where the camera and the body touches. the hinge is bolted directly onto the middle chassis + motherboard of the UX...... untighten them, and the whole camera module should come off WITH the hinge.... and that's about it as far as I can remember... I've already shipped most of my UX away to the users.... hahah, hence, only LCD and the lcd hinge is left... |
