| Saving Files to Memory Stick Can I backup the files from my Peg UX50 to a memory stick; to be used to restore the device to its current state in the event of something bad happening, like the battery completely dying - which forces the device back to its original factory settings? My HotSync feature is not working and I need an alternative to creating backups for my data. Thanks for the help! |

| I cannot think of a product off the top of my head but I am sure something exists - it might be worth checking out the "essential apps" thread which is a sticky at the top of this forum.
Any idea why HotSync is not working? I used to find re-installing the software often helped.

| I think RescoBackup does what you want.
Also you have the option "Power Saving" in the Prefs Application. If you click the button labeled "Turn Off", you'll turn off the PDA in Power Saving mode which means a backup will be creaded in a special area of the memory which is hard reset -resistant.
Greetings,

| I lost the disc that came with the unit; and when I download the drivers (ver. 4.2) it loads on my PC, but when I connect the unit, my PC does not recognize it. Any thoughts? |

| Does the PC detect the device at all?

| My PC recognizes that a USB device is attached to it, and it prompts me to point it to the drivers. So I try to point it to ver. 4.2 of the software that I downloaded from CNET, but it doesn't work. Which software (and where can I get it?) should I download to get the ActiveSync to work on my PC with my PEG UX-50? |

| Correction I meant HotSync, not ActiveSync. |

| Try downloading a version of Palm Desktop direct from Palm like version 4.1.4 which is available here. Getting the software direct from Palm means it is far more likely to work than that from an intermediary.
IntelliSync Lite and all the official updates are also available from the Sony Support page here.
I hope this helps
