| Hi,
Just to answer some of the questions. Yes, 30 to 40 minute a day and it drops to 40%, although there is chance that there is more juice left since the battery changes quite dramatically due to Sony's CPU, however, still very disappointing. I run Agendus mostly, sometimes inputting schedule and todo, or phone number (probalby 3 to 6 minute a day), take some pictures, and do some rough layout drawing on the Clie notes, and i've been using thought manager for quite a lot these days, especially with UX-50's keyboard (very nice, i can even imagine I can type my paper on it, theoritically), I spent most of time with thought manager (10 to 15). Now that it may be more accurate to run a battery benchmark program, however, due to Sony's new CPU, plus I dont' have stable internet connection right now to find a proper application to test it, I don't believe the result will come up correctly, maybe sonicboy can give a hand with the battery benchmark
I run english XP, and I installed Friend's English NX80's palmdesktop, that's the only thing i need from NX80 since almost every application came pre-installed. The only thing I think i will need later from other English UX50 users' CDROM is probalby the sound convertor, NX80's version does not work with UX50. But to be honest, I haven't been able to take full advantage of the CD-ROm, but I can always copy Englihs version's cdrom later. Every application in it is Japanese, but NetFront for example, are prety easy to figure out, tap menu, and first item is used to inputting URL, then the rest can be operated with those icons.
I don't relaly get what do you mean by universal charger? you don't mean the electric current right? (it's 100v to 240v) Are you talking about the different plug that's being used in different countries? If that's the case, UX50 uses the same one US use...and I don't know what's it called! |

| lol, sorry I was being a smart *** about having to convert AC to DC with every single one of my high tech devices..
you can buy lots of solar things here, I should really check that out but I would probably want to charge a battery and then put that into the clie.. solar is not steady.. clowds passing etc..

| Yeah, if we had the solar techno-gadgets from over there with the usual cloud free sunshine we have here, we'd be all set! |

| I'm seriously considering doing the same, because I'd really like to have the dual language capability...well, yeah, I'm betting all the menus and dialogs are ALWAYS in Japanese, even went you're in English grafitti input mode, but for me, that's a plus cuz it forces me to relearn the language and kanji.
My only concern is if the thing needs repairs, although, I must say that none of our Clies here at work have ever needed to be serviced and a lot of our Palm and Visors have had to be serviced, so maybe I'm worried for nothing. But, I'll bet Sony America won't touch a Japanese market UX50 in so far as having to repair one. That's my only question mark now.
