I have a clie tg-50.There are two things I would like to do which have eluded me. First rip a cd and transfer it to the tg50 so I can listen to it. Secondly, rip a movie and be able to watch it. Lets tackle the first one.I have a 1 gig memory stick pro duo with magicgate in an adaptor. No programs seem to recognize it, however I was able to format it using the tg50. It put several folders on the card and a backup folder. I have an external usb card reader which I was able to use to read the card. The tg50 does not seem able to read it. I used sonic stage to rip a cd but cannot transfer it to the tg50. Where on the PC are the sound files for sonic stored and how do I get them on the tg50? I will worry about the movies later. Thank you.
You should have the data transfer software in your TG-50 that was included in the destop software cd for your clie. This is great software as it essentially turns your TG50 into a memory card reader. Launch it on your desktop, and on your Clie while it is on the cradle. You shoul then be able to drag and drop mp3's on onto the data transfer window and install it on to your memory card.
What are you using as your media player? Sonic Stage is worthless for this process. I recommend downloading I-tunes - http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ it will turn any music already on your hard drive into an mp3 automatically, then you can install it on your TG-50
First, thank you for the quick response. If by data transfer program you mean Palm Desktop for Clie, I have it installed. I down loaded and installed itunes. I then entered a cd into the program and have an album of mp3 songs. How do I get these songs or the album onto the memory stick in the clie in such a way so I can listen to them? Where do I drag and drop so it goes to the memory stick? I tried but could only force them onto the MS by using the USB direct to the MS. Once there the Clie did not recognize them and could not play them. Any ideas? Thank you so much. Oldguy
I wanted to wait until I got to my desktop so I could walk you through it, but that could take a couple of more days. Sorry for the late reply.
In broad strokes, you will want to connect your clie to the desktop cradle and launch the, "MS Import" application. Also on your desktop, lauch the Data transfer application for the Clie. You can then drag MP3's on that application and install it using the link on the bottom left of the data transfer application on the desktop.
