AOL dial-up

Hi!

Right, as a favour for a friend (famous ladt words...) I was gonna help sort out his net connection.

Turned out it was AOL dial-up *cue screams of terror*

Now, apparently it was working up until a couple of weeks ago, but for whatever reason it stopped.

The problem is that the AOL9 software can't detect the modem - Everything else works fine!
I could get the compy on with my own old dialup accounts, so the modem and network setup are perfectly fine, yet STILL the AOL software refuses to acknowledge the existance of the modem!!

Dones anyone have any ideas/suggestions?
I am totally stumped as to the cause...
