One last task for my ux50

Man, this brings back some memories. A little eerie how fast these forums vacated. However, I decided a long time ago that since the ux was my first pda, I'm going to keep it as long as I can. In that effort, I've got one more task for my little guy. I'd like to use PalmOrb to make it a rolling matrix LCD for weather, games, computer stats, etc.

There seems to be two issues in my way. I can't seem to get a connection on Win 7 (64-bit) via USB, nor a serial connection via bluetooth. I've got a Kensington dongle but the built-in interface seems to override the wicomm one that I'm use to. On top of that, I can't seem to get palm desktop 6.2 installed, but I think I can take care of that one. I'd prefer to use bluetooth to be able to bring it into the other room if need be, but USB will work.

I'd appreciate it if anyone still around could possibly help me out one last time.

Thanks,
Brad

This might be a dumb question, but what with the history of UX bluetooth "breaking", have you checked whether you can still pair it with another BT device?

The other problem is that the UX was never intended to work with 64-bit Windows. That said, I'm sure I had mine working with 64-bit Vista for a while. stevoparis claimed over in this thread that he had Bluetooth working between his 64-bit PC and a UX and Palm themselves claim here that BT connectivity/hotsyncing works on Win 7 64-bit.

Sadly the best I can do is to urge you to keep at it and update us as to your progress. Good luck!

Well, I can still pair with my computer, but the serial service isn't added for it. Thank you for the links. I'll give it another shot hopefully tonight.
