LifeFlash lag

Hi Does anyone experience this?

I have replaced my microdrive with a CF card, by means of PowerDrive. I also set the memory size to be 512MB. Initially, my LifeFlash is very fast, however, as I install more and more programs like games onto the unit, the LifeFlash is getting slower and slower. It is just like it is running on the microdrive, despite the fact that it is running on CF.

I also tried a smaller memory size of 256MB, but the result is the same.

What is the point of of having 512MB (or more) of internal memory if the whole LifeFlash will slow down if there are too many programs in memory?

So, at the moment, I leave the internal memory at 256MB and use Zlink to move all my games from memory to the "Lifedrive" card storage. (you know what I mean).

Any comment?

I am just wondering that it is just me who has this experience, or it is a common behavior of Palm LifeDrive?

I never touched PowerDrive when I made my LifeFlash mod, just a direct swap of the microdrive with CF.

Have you tried doing that instead? You can leave apps out of the "internal" ram and just run them off the.. other partition.

What steps did you take?

I do know that after I formatted the "memory" partition using FAT and then reloaded my NVBAckup, things did become really zippy. However, the original CF card was created using PowerDrive in my case. Could it have been fragged?
