#1 | | Guest | Which model should a junior doc pic up? Hi there, I am starting my residency on July 1st, comming up in a couple of weeks here.....
I have been pulling out my hair on which model to get to help tackle my upcoming hospital duties as efficiently as possible.
Right now I am considering a TH55 with MS card and future keyboard (if/when Sony comes out with one compatible with the TH55), vs the Tungsten T3 with "power to go" power pack (its a sort of extended battery pack), SD card and mini-keyboard (I am assuming this palm mini-keyboard is compatible with the T3)....
Any real-world wisdom, experiences and opinions about this are greatly appreciated. Either to this forum or to my email at jgudgeon@ualberta.ca
Thanks again

| I own a TJ37 id go for the th (its personal) Hi,
Im a 4th year med student, had my TJ-37 since 3 weeks now and simply love it. My budget was limited at the time... Therefore chose the TJ with a 256Mb MS (MP3s). It had the WiFi connection I craved for.
If i had had the money I would have gone for a TH55, my girlfriend just got the NX90V (she doesnt need the Wireless).
I have little complaints over sony, even though most of my friends go for palm. Most probably because its widely available in Venezuela where I live.
I preffer the Sony, but its a personla choice... I recommend you drop by a store and get the feeling on each one of them...
The tj has a bad reputation for battery life... The TH has a reputation for an EXTRAORDINARY Btt life... I have had no need for extra batt life even though i sync through WiFi and still look and play with it every single second (just had it for 3 weeks).
ABout the kboard... Its my next purchase... really need it... dunno if the model you asked for works for the palm... do some research just in case BEFORE you buy...
Software is hitting my pocket really hard... Glad to help u there if you wish...
See ya around...

| Hi,
Both PDAs are good and great for medical profs..
The only thing that I guess would make u choose the TH55 over the T3 is the Wireless connection ..
The TH55 (European Model) has both Bluetooth + wireless
The T3 Has only the Bluetooth, but the internal memory would make u forget about the wireless
If have no need for the wireless connection, go for the T3 it would do a great job
But as it's said.. it's a personal choice.. I am getting myself a TH55 next month since in both my college & Hospital have a wireless network which I can use .... |

| The NX80 has a keyboard, cost about $300 (w/rebate if you find it), has a cf slot for memory cards and a cf slot for wifi (uses only Sony cf wifi card).

| Th55 No doubt about this one. I got this and I am starting as well on 21st of this month. The screen is bigger than TJ37 besides u can get a good deal at www.resellerratings.dealtime.com I ended up buying 512Mb stick but I could have lived with 128Mb (I do not use it for songs or movies). I have all the big books/calculators/pharmacopeas installed on it and still have not uses even 100Megs. |
