| Palm Eos leaked! http://www.engadget.com/2009/04/30/...aded-to-atandt/
I don't know if it's true or not, since that interface looks so different from the WebOS on the Pre. But anyways, any Palm rumor needs to show up here
Seems to be the rumored lower-end WebOS device, and kind of a way to work around Sprint's exclusivity over the Pre, and get something on AT&T. Someone was asking about Verizon on Engadget, and I think he's forgotten that Verizon usually needs an additional year of testing and function crippling before releasing a device.
There's only 4GB, and I don't see WIFI. But it's Quad-band GSM, yay!
Cutting out WIFI seems to be a nice way to have some market differentiation from the Pre, but no WIFI, maybe not for me.
I don't know, seeing that it's quad-band GSM, I'm starting to have doubts about getting the Pre on Sprint... I like traveling, and it would be really nice to just pop in a prepaid-SIM card whenever I get to a new country.

| I liked the idea of a pure-PDA WebOS device akin to the iPod Touch. WiFi would be nice for such a thing but not a dealbreaker. Sprint is definitely a dealbreaker, so I would surely go this route if given the chance.

| I agree with the pure-PDA WebOS device + WiFi + Bluetooth. I love printing with my Palm to my network printers! :-) Also little quick surfing is helpful when I'm in a pinch. Internet Radio is also a sweet addition on my Palm. |

| The short answer is "yes". The longer answer is "how?"
I've already started getting ready for my Pre by getting everything onto Google and using Goosync to synchronise betweent the Treo and Google.
There's a slight problem with Goosync in that it will only do +/- 365 days but you can use CompanionLink For Google to get round that.
Here's what I did:
Step 0 - back up your data!
Step 1 - Sync the Treo with Outlook to get your Calendar, Contact and Task data up-to-date on the PC.
Step 2 - Use CompanionLink for Google to transfer ALL your information into the Google cloud.
Step 3 - Use Goosync to sync between Google and the Treo from now on. The first sync will create some duplicates but once you've got them tidied away, you're all set.
Step 4 - Use CompanionLink for Google to keep Outlook and Google in sync.
I find this all works great to keep my work and personal life in step. I update work stuff in Outlook and personal stuff in the Treo (or directly in Google) and everything stays in sync.
There are a few "gotchas" to do with the different settings, e.g. tasks on Treo can be ranked 1-5, wheras Google is only 1-3 and CompanionLink won't transfer Categories on Contacts (does on the Calendar), so you might need to experiment to see what combination of sync and update suits you best.
And remember, take a backup first in case it all goes pear-shaped!
(Goosync are running a refer a friend competition so if you'd like a referral, email me - andrew at thoughtunlimited co uk)
Thanks,
Andrew
