Another vote for SplashPhoto - superb Mac-side software, which makes getting pictures onto the Clie very easy indeed. SlashID is also great - the Mac software would be worth having even if there wsn't a Palm side. Vindigo works well for city information, and - if you live in the UK - check out the Radio Times software which will put TV (and cable) schedules on the Clie. Also - though it's a long way from cheap - FileMaker mobile works very well for having Filemaker databases on the Clie.

Encryption software. If you are not keeping your passwords, credit card numbers, etc... in an encrypted database, then you are missing one of the greatest advantages of using a PDA and taking it with you everywhere. Go to http://freewarePalm.com and search for "secure" and it should turn up several hits.

Actually an alternate idea - as any 'secure' database can be cracked - is to write password an clues.
For example, suppose your password was "tucker33" you could write "tuck3" or "t3".

Must Apps...for Mac...

DoctoGo
Zlauncher
MissingSync
WebConfidental
iSilo and/or MobiPocket
FM Sync
JFile
BackupBuddy
UnInstallManager
CleanUp

IMHO these are the most important apps. I use them every day. For me the most necessary app is JFile and FM Sync (with FM Sync you can synchronize FileMaker Databases with JFile).

Salut

I've been changing ".mov" to ".mqv" and copying the movie files to a memory stick then viewing them on TH55. Not sure if that answers your question. Not truly elegant ... but it works.

joel and bobinnv: I have use splashphoto and like it alot as well. I have to get the new version.

exNewt count me in amoung the "faithful" that like to get the look of OS X into their palm....I like your suggestions, and was considering pocket tunes with the itunes skin as well!! (do you recommend it?)

Anyone have an "elegant" way of getting quicktime movies onto our clies?
Quicktime Pro? ....I have heard that the ".mqv" is not compatible from mac-to-clie but the opposite clie-to-mac is. Anyone have Kinoma Player/producer?

Thanks for the welcome joel !

These are a 'snatch & grab' thief magnet; I prefer the Shure noise blockers (on a plane anyway).

Another must have app is a sync conduit to keep your PDA clock in sync with the world. I like to use TimeCopy and the TimeCopy Macintosh sync conduit

Hi,
Exactly how are you getting this to work?

I have a Th55, and I am trying to copy the files to my Memory stick. I can't even get the sample movies supplied by Sony to work.

What folder on the Memory Stick and what format. Please be very detailed. I have spent many hours trying every single folder and file name I can find mentioned on the internet forums.

This really stupid of Sony to make something so impossible to make work.
