The best way to restrict what he can use on the Zodiac is to
remove anything you don't want him to use. If it's not there, he can't use it...
Launcher X uses a tabbed interface, and will let you "hide" tabs, and assign a password to unhide them, so you could theoretically put the stuff you don't want him to access on hidden tabs and hide them, with a password he doesn't know to reveal them.
This will not prevent him from
installing games. How old is your son, and why do you want to restrict his usage like that?

Current versions have Zodiac specific fixes, like, the joystick now works to navigate in the launcher. (That had been broken in earlier releases.)
