| Install Disk (Files) Required for Zire 72 Hello one-and-all
I just got my wife a Zire 72, but it came without the installation disks. When I try to connect it to my PC so I can sync, the PC wants to "install new hardware." The file that it's looking for is - PalmUSBD.sys - Can anyone email it to me at Ou_Boet at Yahoo dot com. (Apparently my TX disk don't cut the mustard).
Of course if you have a way to make the entire disk available I wont say no either. (ftp?)
Thanks million
OB

| Well got BlueTooth syncing working so the actual USB sync driver is less critical, but I'd still like to use it.

| Usually when you go to Palm and install a desktop they ask what device you are trying to use it for. That free desktop will usually work for the device that you request the desktop. Then afterwards use your TX desktop CD to to install your TX if it is not working.
The device manager on windows you have to search and find the driver. Sometimes the default setting will work, sometimes not.
And if it still doesn't work sometimes the cord, the device setting (local) or the contacts aren't clean. Yes Hotsyncing is frustrating. Good luck because you will really need that....

| @Ou_Boet:
possible reason why it's looking for PalmUSB.sys file is that if the PC(Windows) dont have any previous Palm software, PC will automatically install the driver that is the closes to the hardware. Actually, Palm TX software can still work with Zire 72 since newer softwares have backward compatibility with older models.
Lemme just ask you these:
1. Do you and your wife share same PC/laptop, or no?
2. Any previous Palm software/s installed on your wife's PC? |
