Maybe this is a "high stack space use" scenario that I referred to above that's causing the alarm freeze for you. You should try the font solution I proposed in the original post, then DON'T change your fonts back to the 2nd smallest, and run the same test and see if you get the alarm freeze. I'm betting you won't, but if you run the test, let us know. |
Just tried your method, and it does solve the freeze I mentioned. However, I still want the small font, so I will try not to set two alarms at the same time. |

| Has anyone else tried contacting SOny support about teh alarm freeze bug and whether they'd have a fix? I did and got the oh-so-helpful response that I should try a soft reset! |

| We should (as a community) send a common e-mail/message to Sony thanking rldunn for all of the hard work put into this fix and for doing Sony's QA job for them. |

| I don't plan on using alarms with my TH55:
- do you guys think that means I am "safe" using the small font so long as I don't use Alarms?
- if I am using small fonts, but later decide to use an alarm, if I switch back to the large font before the alarm goes off, will I avoid the alarm freeze?
(By the way, thanks rldunn for figuring this one out! You rule!) |

| Yes, if you never use alarms, you should have no problem with the small font on Clie Organizer. That said, I think you're crazy, as one of the biggest benefits of a PDA over a paper organizer is that it tells you when your appointments are about to happen without you needing to keep checking the clock. But if you really don't need them, the small fonts will work OK for you. Quote: |

| No, switching back to a large font doesn't fix the problem. You'll have to run through the steps in my original post if you later decide to use alarms. |

| Also don't forget if you want alarms to go with small fonts, you can have that as long as the last app you leave before powering off is the Clie organizer datebook. I'm going that way and kinda miss Zlauncher, but I still need small fonts instead of the bigger fonts but you get used to the CO over time hehe. |

| I set my alarms in the datebook PIM, but otherwise use CO all the time. I have to use the small fonts! I also have my 21" computer monitor set to its highest resolution too. Some reason I need to see everything at once, no matter how small. Maybe I have good eye site.

| Thank you so much -- having found this thread made my week ;-) After running into the 2nd complete battery drain with a re-install, I almost feared my TH55 sucked (at least the battery it did...)
Thanks, GB |

| ohkay...... I was quite amazed about what kinda bug are you guys talking about. Just because I haven't had any, even ever any kind of alarm freezing so so... and as far i remember I have always used the small font. Though I did install the Sony's updates as the second they did appear.

About my gadgets, I'm now just using my psp, camera and cellphone. Maybe I will someday get a new pda, but it must to have phone cababilities so I don't need to use my regular cellphone anymore. And yeah, this means I won't be hanging in here 1src that much anymore. If someone want me to remove unfinished threads from 1src or something just pm me. Keep your gadgets running! |
