| Functional Backup program yet? Been wondering if anyone has had success with a backup program yet. I'me stepping lightly in the way of trying out old programs (and new ones as well) b/c I haven't had success with my old favorite Backupman, Resco Backup, nor Backupbuddy. Once I get a valid backup will I try some new software.
Anyone? |

| backupman 1.54 as well, although it still goes through that soft-reset-after-backup routine, which the developers say they're working on. you still get a full backup, though. |

| The reset after backup issue was gone after I deleted TextPlus. Fonts4OS5 can also cause this crash if certain fonts are used.

| BackupMan proven to work BackupMan works for me, and has already saved me when the PC was not around. BUT, as others have said above this post and elsewhere here at 1SRC, some programs cause issues. For me, and very sadly, I had to remove Fonts4OS5. I very much like to use tiny fonts and tiny fonts cause reboots. No tiny fonts equals no resets for me. My LifeDrive is quite stable, at least equal to my TT3 or my Sony NZ90.
Finally, BackupMan saved me where even a hotsync after a hard reset could not. Now how good is that; I think very GREAT. |

Have you all actually tried to restore after a hard reset? I'm wary b/c I'm not sure if Backupman actually completes the backup due to the soft reset issue after each backup (!). |

| Yes, after a very hard reset. My LD was hanging on every sync, so I did a hard reset, but the only choice was the long reset. After that I synced again and again it hung ... to I hard reset yet again and restored using BackupMan. It not only worked but the hot sync worked without hanging up. Of course my mp3s were gone but I had learned to keep very valuable stuff on the SD card not the hard drive.
In order to get backups that did not reset my LD I had to stop using the tiny fonts that Fonts4OS5 allowed. Others here have found that other programs needed to be removed. Your milage may vary as they say. Good luck... |

| The reset will not cause a backup failure. I have tested. It crash AFTER backing up so your backup integrity is good. The restore is perfect, but remember, if you had issues before backing up, this issues will also be backed up, so it's wise to have a few generations of backups.

| yes, i can confirm that i have restored my files from the backupman set after a hard reset, and they were all there. the backup set is complete (you can actually see a brief message telling you that the backup is complete, just before it goes into soft reset). Yes, at least 3 times (it took me that long to realize Aim wasn't compatible with LifeDrive...). Everytime with success. :-) |

Yeah, I tried it and it didn't work. I don't think the backup was complete even though I verified it so the restore was incomplete. |

Ruben, this is the LifeDrive forum and I don't think there was in issue with previous Palms(to speak of).
They are specifically talking about an issue with the LifeDrive.

| TealBackup runs without a single glitch. No resets of any kind.
However I haven't had an opportunity to try a full restore yet. I have had occasion to restore individual files though which works fine. |
