maybe a dead "jog"fix

my jog dial on my awesome ux 50 stopped working today, for about two days it was acting funny, when i scrolled, the jog would skip an item or simply not register, so i came to the forums and didn't find much of an answer, so with the use of filez i was able the locate a PRC called "jog assist" i copied the jog assist prc. to my mem stick than using the copy feature again, i copied the jog assist prc. back to the rom (palm's standard memory) and presto! my jog dial was fully restored, if you than use filez again to check the internal memory (rom) you should see two "jog assist" PRC. one with a "rom" icon and one with out (the newly copied prc.) you can delete the jog assist prc (The one WITH OUT the icon) note: if you aren't able to delete the prc. than use the reset while holding the "up" arrow (PgUp) trick. hopefully this will work for everyone who comes up against this problem. what i think this fix does is recalibrate the jog wheel, now i am still not sure if this is a complete fix, i do not know if the jog dial is made of mechanical switches or optically coded but this trick definitally worked for me. if it didn't, i would have had to take my ux apart. i will say that this is my first problem with my device since i bought it a year ago (no probs. till now) and i am a VERY heavy user of this awesome PDA . hope peeps (people) can make use of this info
