I can't seem to get this working. I always get a PPP Timeout whenever I try to connect, yet when I try to use AT&T's settings on my T|T3, it works...but I can't go online usin' WebPro...
Help? |
This is what I did to get mine going (you may have to delete the pairing of your phone and T3 on both as well as any networking settings you created (under Prefs: Network) as well as any Connections you created (under Prefs: Network) on your handheld before you start).
1.) Pair the devices. I made my phone (T68i) initiate since it didn't seem to work the other way around. Make sure when you put in the password on the T3 that you also check "add to trusted devices"
The rest will be under the "Preferences in the handheld"
2.) Under Prefs->Bluetooth: Just make sure it's on. I also have Discoverable marked as Yes but I don't know if it's really necessary.
3.) Under Prefs->Connection:
Click "NEW" .
Name it whatever you want (I called mine T68i internet).
For "Connect to" select "modem".
For "Via" select "Bluetooth".
For "Device" click "Tap to Find" and select your phone.
For "Dialing" leave at "Touchtone"
For "Volume" set it at whatever you want.
Click "Details" button at the bottom and select your Speed
For "Flow Ctl" leave it at "Automatic"
Click "OK" to save your Connection
4.) Under Prefs->Network:
Click "NEW" to create a new service
Call it whatever you want (I called mine T68i internet)
Leave "User Name" blank
Leave Password at "Prompt"
For "Connection" select the connection you created in step 3
For Phone enter in the number you have to dial for net access
Click "Details" Button
Leave "Connection Type" at "PPP"
For "Idle Timeout" set to "Never"
Check both "Query DNS" and "Automatic" for "IP Address"
Click "OK"
That should be it. I use T-Mobile internet but I think it would be similar for AT&T as well, but I could be totally wrong here. Hopefully I was some help. The only hangup is knowing what the T3 has to dial to get net access.
While I'm on the subject, for the other T-Mobile users on here: I found that when I connected my T3 to the internet using my T-Zones subscription I could not use any program that uses a proxy server for access (i.e Verichat). I still could surf the web if I turned off proxy support on Webpro, but turning it on would timeout everytime. This wasn't a problem on my NX70V. The only way around it was to get an unlimited internet account and connect with that. Anyone else get this problem?
