Some preinstalled softwares from SONY are not installed in ROM or "protected in RAM" anymore...
They are on a "hidden" folder of the VMS (Virtual Memorystick) you can't see using Clie Files, but with McFile or Filez it is ok...
The folder name is "SYSTEM" on the root of the VMS...
In the folders are installed the following softwares (on a japanese UX):
-> CLIEDemo ( 687 kB)
-> JEDict ( 86 kB)
-> MMFlash (727 kB)
-> PhotoEditor (339 kB)
-> Photostand (943 kB)
-> Picsel Viewer (3 363 kB)
-> Remote Cam (309 kB)
-> WoldAlarmClock (60 kB)
The total amount is 6 514 kB... 6.5 MB...
All these softwares are installed in:
SYSTEM/Palm/AliasExt/
Some data (in fact only the Swf file for ClieDemo) are in:
SYSTEM/Palm/App/CLIEDemo/
The interesting part is that you can remove them by simply changing their attributes with McFile for example... You remove "hidden, Read Only and Archive" and then you can safely delete them...
The good news is that you can copy them to a Memorystick (MS) and then launch the most part of them from the MS...
Some of these softwares (Picsel viewer for example) need to be launch using Power Run, else it won't work...
Well it isn't a "magic trick" to have more RAM, but simply more place on VMS...
