| Don't know if this applies at all, but I had some now-forgotten problem after I changed a battery, and searching this forum I found the recommendation to hard reset, and that did the trick.
Still using the old TH55s, although I have Android phones and tablet and MP3 and video players. One TH55 is dedicated to video (shows offloaded from TiVo), the other to all-purpose uses (calendar, podcasts and music, reading, memos, lists and such). |

| OK, I need a screen, finally dropped the TH55 and it' s cracked and not working. Lights up fine, got the chime when I reset it, and I sure hope one of my backups is recent.
Anyone got a screen, or a TH55, I can talk you into selling? |

| DanT, got your email, looking around locally in case I can find a used TH55 in good shape (it happens, unpredictably) before deciding on screen replacement -- as I have a backup TH55 that works ok (bad camera, lid sockets broken out, and bad power switch on the backup Clie but it's fine for reading still).
The one with the newly broken screen has no lid --sockets both broken and hinge bits gone -- but it's the only one I've ever had with a good working camera in it. (and its power switch works)
Tradeoffs, decisions -- so maybe I have a more complicated 'spare parts' question developing. Let me see what's around locally.
How's your overall parts and PDA collection doing? Are the front plastic pieces where the cover clicks in ever in good shape or fixable? On one I fixed the sockets that broke out, using little bits of thin metal shim and small springs covered with a dab of epoxy. The old plastic does get brittle.

Above Laolita asked "Anyone developing a TH55 emulator for smart phone??"
I haven't seen it but I've read about one. I'll make a new topic for that. |
