I don't know

But Sony planned it that way to not be repaired or have the battery replaced.

You need a small battery that will run down anyway, so really a cheap camera is a better option. For a Palm device get either a Z-72 or a Sony Clie TH-55 (Which has a larger battery and doesn't go low fast). Pretty much my TJ-37 isn't be used anymore.....

BTW Android has a camera and uses a memory card which makes it similar too.

TJ-37 Battery

I have had good luck with BATTERYSHIP.COM. I have bought from them for 3 years now. It seems the battery begins to lose a charge fast after about a year. I STILL use my TJ-37 daily. I hope this works for you. Hmm... I might be due AGAIN soon!

Here is the link you can copy & paste.

Good Luck!

The advice from batteryship is excellent:
EXCEPTIONAL SONY CLIE PEG-TJ37 BATTERY TECHNOLOGY:

Lithium Polymer Chemistry info
* 3.7 volts
* 750 mAh
* 100% OEM Compatible. This aftermarket Sony Clie PEG-TJ37 Battery is guaranteed to meet or exceed OEM specifications.
* Integrated Power Management Circuits - protect against over-voltage and under-voltage conditions and maximizes battery life between charges, minimizes charging times, and improves overall battery life.
* The Sony Clie PEG-TJ37 Battery provides 300-500 discharge/charge cycles. info
* Your new Sony Clie PEG-TJ37 Battery comes in a discharged condition and must be charged before use (refer to your manual for charging instructions).
* The Sony Clie PEG-TJ37 Battery prefers a partial rather than a full discharge. Frequent full discharges should be avoided when possible.
* Keep the Sony Clie PEG-TJ37 Battery cool and store only in a cool, dry location.
* The Sony Clie PEG-TJ37 Battery is Quality Tested and RoHS & CE Certified.
------------------------------------------
Most likely I will try to keep my battery powered devices out of a hot car. Will avoid doing a deep discharge.
