| Selling my UX40 and accessories... After many years of being a proud Clie owner, I feel that I should look into selling off my Clie UX40 and its associated accessories (WiFi Memory Stick, Case, some Memory Sticks).
Please contact me if you're interested! ee.ashley@gmail.com
Oh the days of cliesource.com... seems so long ago now...

| If Sony had stayed in the PDA market, would we have seen an iPhone killer? I think so....

| Nice idea but I feel the OS let it down.

| I think Sony was ahead of its time with the Clies. People weren't ready to adopt electronic devices beyond MP3 players and your standard cellphone at that period in time.
Now that there is the demand for email, Twitter, Facebook, music, YouTube, movies, games, etc on electronic devices in the general middle-class consumer market, you'll notice that almost all major phones support these types of features, that were spiritually present on the Sony Clies (they were internet connectivity and multimedia powerhouses).
So in some sense everyone has caught up to Sony's Clies in terms of what smartphones offer these days. But Sony dropped their lead and now just look the same as everyone else. I think they left a bad taste in people's mouths with their UIQ3 devices. So I'm hesitant to trust them again even with the more recent Android and S60 5th edition devices.
Their innovation edge is gone - everyone is doing the same thing now. Perhaps the only thing that Sony retains well is its classy industrial-business styling. I like it, but I'm happier with my more toy-looking Nokia 5800 because Nokia seems to be a lot better at integrating and maintaining services for their users when compared to Sony. (I always rave about Nokia's practically giving away of their Ovi Maps satellite navigation software - few smartphones in the market provide this capability so well, not even the iPhone does this for free).

| The Xperia was manufactured by HTC. That's how you know Sony is loosing their touch. They probably laid off all their creative AIBO and CLIE staff and started outsourcing for design and hardware manufacturing. Sad because the CLIE line had some amazing features that modern devices need. I currently have the HTC Touch Pro 2 but its all plastic. I dropped it and you can see the dents. If it were like the magnesium-type case on the UX50, I doubt I would see the same type of damage. It would have been minimized because I've dropped my UX50 a number of times and it still looks decent.
In defense for Windows Mobile, I feel its a great OS but when manufactures are allowed to add their bloatware just like Windows, you get a slow buggy device. I love Windows Mobile most because you can customize the ROM to just barebone OS or a fully HTC Sense-UI device with add-ons. I'm more of a barebones + extra apps person. Although, I feel my phone may die on me any day so I keep the stock on their just in case.
