Borderline palms

Technically Handspring is not a Palm Inc Brand. It was created by the same people who started palm but they developed things on their own separate from palm.

Handspring will not be able to use the installation CD if you want to try to put it on XP. (I didn't want to erase my data experimenting on my Windows 2000) Why you ask? because of a driver....Yet because I had other desktops I decided to try the Clie desktop for Tj-25 and tj35 no go. Finally I got an old desktop installation disk for a palm M500 and I was able to hotsync my Handspring.

Couple of questions about Handspring. How could you tell if it is a deluxe or regular Handspring? I guess because of the colors of the case, the leather slipcase and the 8mb of memory.

So far I was able to add a camera and fileZ to my handspring. Tonite I will try to use the night phospherescence to try to read.

Next on my agenda is to try to hotsync a palm m100, for some reason it will not hotsync (it has a direct serial, maybe the speed is too quick for it to work? It is a borderline remanufactured palm (may be from China)

I am using my Handspring and charging the non-chargeable AAA battery (which is not recommended on a NiNh charger. I charge it less than 25 minutes because if you charge too long it might leak or explode) Reading in the green glow of the screen is not too bright like my Sony Clie.

Here is my flicker account of my Handspring and eyemodule:

Today I got a stowaway targus keyboard. I also got another Handspring (that has built in rechargeable battery that is recharged by the dock) and is different than the Deluxe by having no battery door and an extra light to show it is recharging. I suppose it is the Handspring visor plus because it also has 16mb of memory as opposed to the 8mb of memory that the regular deluxe has.

It must be a newer Handspring because it has the OS 3.5.2H3. The handspring desktop CD is 2002 with the number 50-0640-02
The most advanced Handspring deluxe has OS 3.5.2H1.2

Connection size is 2k and system is 36k as opposed to the deluxe 1k and 24k.

Using the stowaway keyboard cd I installed the program to use the keyboard. Setting in the keyboard you have to be careful of not breaking the plastic guides that helps to guide the Visor into the keyboard port.

The keyboard also has the buttons for Date/apps, phone/menu, To do/Calc and Memo/find.
