Getting Used To It...

When my TH55 blew a gasket yesterday and needed a complete reload of apps, etc., I decided to take the plunge and map all of the buttons to work with Clie Organizer as the TH was designed.

So far, in using Clie Organizer instead of the standard Palm PIM apps (because Palm Datebook kept crashing my TH...), I've really grown to like it. I especially like the ability to add hand-written notes when necessary, like a firend's phone number on the fly, etc.

Now the first hard button pulls up CO Datebook, the second CO Freenotes and the third, CO Memopad. The fourth hard button is mapped for MyBible using TheGoGo.

I've also used TheGoGo to map the Camera capture button to turn the TH on and off, much better that the lame slider switch the TH was designed with.

I'm glad that I gave CO a chance. It's really grown on me.

About CO skipping a week or month...
I had the same problem, so I started using the buttons on the back (next to the jog dial) instead of the arrows. They work fine!

CO is really great, however I give up using CO. The only reason is that I know all the handwriting / pictures / icons could not be able to transfer to my future palm machine, at the day my TH55 breaks down.

MrEnglish

Thank you soo much for the tip on using the buttons surrounding the jogdial for the skipping months/weeks.

It was soo obvious I can't believe I didn't see it

January 2008 and still using CO for my daily planner. I replaced Datebook 6 with it and have found it provides the required linking and scheduling I need.
One thing I find particularly useful is enter in the datebook a daily journal event. I set the event with no time and to repeat daily so it rolls from day to day. I also attach a note to record all the events for the day. When I sync it with outlook it is displayed under the calender. I also do the same with a call log but attach a free note for quick scribbling of phone numbers.

I'm still using CO as well and find it works great for my needs. Being able to scribble a hand-written note has saved me several times. I don't use the stickers though; there aren't enough of them and it causes the load speed for CO to slow down...

Really, there isn't anything that touches the TH-55.

Kinda sad...

that is soo true. I thought the iPod touch could replace the TH55 but it doesn't. I am still glued to CO for my organizing needs. It simply is the best organizer because of the free notes and digital ink on the daybook.

I think the most useful "stickers" are sticking freenote scribbles on to the datebook. I found myself less and less scribbling on the main datebook screen and sticking freenote pages instead, leaving the main datebook less messy.

I do use the icon like stickers, though. In month view, I use them to markout important days of the month.

It really is strange that no one other then Sony ever tried this hard to emulate paper organizers on PDAs.

There is a PPC app that does try to do this.

Paper Agenda. http://www.wolftech.it/software/paperagenda/v%2D2%2D1/

But not nearly as attractive to the eye or nearly as functional, for my tastes anyways.

The Clie Organizer is still unique and a big reason for my still having my TH55 tho my daily pda is my Axim.

I notice no one has mentioned using pslink da with Clie Organizer. It seems to me the author of PSlink intended it to be used with TH55 and CO. It is especially useful linking memos with free notes or CO todos or other programs like progects.
