| Setting Small Font in Blazer with FontSmoother I've searched the archives and it doesn't look like anyone has answered this question yet so here goes:
I have a PalmTX - using Blazer and FontSmoother. If I select Options/Font: Large then I end up using the FontSmoother font I selected for the Web(Blazer) application. But if I select Options/Font: Small then the application still uses a built-in jaggedy small font and not the Sony small Font I selected under Advanced options in FontSmoother...
Anyone know how to change the small font in Blazer? I've got Franklin Gothic 14 as my default ("large") font for the application and it looks nice, but I'd really like to be able to switch from large to small fonts sometimes. |

The Sony small fonts are for Sony devices. I have no idea why the option shows up for you.
FontSmoother can't change small Palm fonts for technical reasons.

| Thanks! Thanks!
I suspect the reason the option is available is because I installed the HRFontSel application and the Sony Small Fonts to play around with NetFront a month or so ago. I liked Net Front but I found with FontSmoother and a nice tiny 9 point font, I could I get a similar effect in Blazer and much better looking.
I was just hoping I could actually select the small fonts in the application. It takes 15 seconds to launch YAHM, change the font in FontSmoother and return to Blazer. I'm sure I'll live with the "burden" -- It's just good to know what my Palm can (and can't) do...
Great to see people in the community involved enough to take the time to answer a really obscure question. |

| Strange; I'm able to use FS's Sony Small Fonts replacement on my T|X (I have HRFontSel installed). It definitely works in BibleReader, as well as NetFront, and a few other Sony-apps; haven't tried it in Blazer, but then, why not just pick a smaller font for Blazer?

| To change the fonts in Blazer 4.0, use FontHackV to substitute custom Font IDs 128, 131 and 134 with your small, small bold and small italic fonts, respectively. Then choose the "small font" setting in Blazer and you're good to go.
This also works in conjunction with FontSmoother, so you can substitute smoothed fonts.
The same applies for VersaMail 3.0, and probably any other application that uses the PalmSGHiResFonts package.

| If you install Dmitry's NetFront pack, it installs all the smallFont databases; this makes a number of apps that can use smallFonts start to use them.
Once again, FontSmoother can just use a smaller font for the "small" font; then your problem is solved without any extra hacking.
Conversely, for those who don't like that some apps suddenly have small fonts when the SmallFont databases are installed, you can set the SmallFont font to something larger in FontSmoother.

| Sorry to resurrect an ancient thread, but I'm trying to replace the small fonts in Chatter on my Centro. I've installed YAHM and FontHackV, then gone in and set up custom fonts for 128, 131 and 134, changed them to different fonts, and both Blazer and Chatter still have the crap jagged small/tiny fonts. Are there different custom IDs for the small and tiny fonts on the Centro? FontSmoother's Sony small fonts replacement option doesn't work either - then again, this ain't a Sony device..
Cheers

| Sorry, it can't really be done without revamping my font generation, and doing way more work than it's worth at this point in FontSmoother's life cycle.
The so-called small fonts are simply the low-resolution versions of the standard fonts--they are not separate fonts.
Now, if you like, you can edit the small fonts in the FontSmoother font files manually, using par, fontconv and a text editor.
