| Alan, might I suggest that you contact Ryan Block, formerly the editor-in-chief of Engadget, and offer to take his Foleo off his hands? In the latest GDGT podcast, he ridicules his Foleo every way possible, enough that you might be doing him a favor.
Here's a link to his new website, and his own "Foleo rant" is at the end of Episode 11. As a bonus, the guys discussed netbooks in Episode 10, and took a few jabs at the Foleo there too. http://gdgt.com/ |

| Alan:
very interesting info on the Dell Mini. I thought it came with XP Home, not Professional.
how did you get Office, etc into the Dell? external optical drive? what brand?
There is a great weather program for the TX using wi-fi: kMeteo at http://khertan.net
thanks for your podcasts |

| Hello Bill.
You are correct, the Inspiron 910/Mini 9 does come with your choice of Linux or XP Home SP3. I purchased an external USB DVD/CD RW drive from Dell and used it to reformat the drive and install Win XP Pro SP2 + Hot Fixes.
So far it has been working fine.
I'll be sure to check out that weather app over the Thanksgiving break.
And about the podcasts, you're welcome!

Thanks. While I was traveling last week, I listened to the last segment of the podcast twice. In it, they say that it is a geeky computer collector's item. I'll shoot the guys and email, but I don't think that they will be parting with it anytime soon.
