| Data Import / Upload Files from PC to TJ35 I would like to use the [Data Import] function on my TJ35.
As I start to connect, the TJ35 is basically recognised by Windows XP as new USB device and therefore is running the [Found New Hardware Wizard].
This tries to search a driver for the [Sony PEG Mass Storage].
However, the search is not successful (neither Internet, automanually nor manually). The [Palm Desktop for CLIE] has been installed propperly using the original Sony Clié CD-ROM. |

| data import I think you are getting confused.
Data Import like to your card or from your pc is not related to Hot Sync & has it's own install program as well as a scsi driver. look on your os cd for seperate program, I use it alot & can install & use w/o rebooting the desktop which you must do to Hot Sync & I can not on school or library computers.

| Alternatively, you can download the necessary drivers from SonyClie.org (under Drivers < Hotsync Drivers). When the Windows wizard asks for the driver, direct it to the correct unzipped folder for your OS in the "SCSI" folder. It should search, detect, and copy the driver into the correct folder for you.
Data Import is for transferring data to and from and exploring the inserted Memory Stick; it turns your CLIE into a card reader. It can't move files on or off or read the internal memory, as jaypclie stated above.

| Thanks for your input :-)
I have installed from the original CD the
"Data Export - Version 1.01 / 2003 (c) Sony Cooperation".
This seems to be right program; runing it, I have the two following sliders/options:
- "Start installation"
- "CLIE card reader"
When I click on "CLIE card reader" the following message is prompted:
*** no card or drive ***
See attachement [ data_export.jpg ]
...what now? |

| There's no need to use the Data Export application on your computer.
Make sure you have inserted a Memory Stick into your TJ35 then run the "Data Import" application on your PDA and tap "Connect". Your computer should now recognize the device. Go to "My Computer" and find the removable drive that corresponds with your Memory Stick. If you named it, the name should show up there. Double click on it and you will be able to access your Memory Stick just as if you were using a card reader.
