I am using 1.1 now, but I think it would be the same with 1.0: did anyone try enabling UDMH with Apt? I cannot get the ctrl IDs, my TX resets as soon as I launch Apt menu.
I just tested UDMH with Opera Mini 4.1b, it is great because you can see all images on a web site, but my TX does not look as stable for other apps, so I'd like to enable UDMH only entering Opera Mini, and disabling it exiting.

thierry,

I have UDMH & have it checked to start in CleanStart, so that should put it in memory on your TX at startup & avoid the prob w/how making it enabled in Apt makes TX unstable. I think that the enabling feature is for those apps that just don't start after reset.

CleanStart is to ensure it gets loaded into memory, but I could be mistaken, anyway this approach has been working for me...

Pgr,

When you do have time, please consider putting a more prominent note on the top line of the wiki, stressing the forum w/support & threads that will help educate newbies...

I've posted a couple of threads there, on 'fave things apt can do for you' & 'tips & tricks fm day2day usage'.

They don't know what is in the forums & based on what you've said, they aren't visiting there....

You can specify exceptions in the Hobbyist apps s othey don't conflict, even diable apt completely.

Hey Chastreo,

Fiddler Central on this thread :-)

While in those Hobbyist apps, if I do a normal Tap on the OK (Exit) button, nothing happens, you just stay in that app. Pressing any hard key will exit you from that app, but that app does not seem to be able to exit itself normally.

If I set Hrd4 with a delay of 0, then pressing OK within the Hobbyist app works fine?

Could you clarify that ? Is 'OK' a screen button ?

Thanks,

Pent

Don't worry, there's plenty of hits to the forums, I just didn't include them in my list...

Unless it's just you refreshing your browser there every minute... :-)

On a more serious tone, I'd say this "launch campaign" has gone as well as it could possibly go; getting more people to buy is not a question of putting more info in front of their face... it's a matter of making Apt evolve as well as it has so far, give it time, let word of mouth spread...

Pgr,

I hear what you say. I have found that when it comes to apps that have complexity, it helps to have resources handy & if people saw that there is built in help....

All the best,

Sounds like maybe a button press is being simulated when you press the button to do the 'exit', so Apt gets maybe confused because there's a keycode for a hard button but no button is being pressed

You can leave your *Default* Hrd4 settings, probably all you need is a

0/Hrd4/- (null action)

trigger in whatever apps you have the problem with.
(this will also disable 1/Hrd4 etc in those apps unfortunately).

If that doesn't work, the new beta has a 'Tr-' action, you could try:

-Lnch/Tr-/Hrd4
Exit/Tr+/Hrd4

in the problem apps.

I am going to write a page about dealing with compatibility problems after 1.1 comes out actually.

Strangely, that did not work ?

In 1.1b5 Tr- shows as T-, or am I using the wrong item.

No you're correct. They work at different points in the key handling, so may give different results.

I have a suggestion for new features, I expect it won't be complicated because it's just re-using current code with a few new combinations:

In short, it's extending the "Launch by letter" approach to the other types of launches available in Apt:

1. DA's
2. Panels
3. Apps to be launched Accessorized (as DA's)

These could be available as new actions under the "Fill" action category.

BTW, I came to these ideas because I was thinking about what people using Apt on a Treo or Centro would want, and I guess that if you have a full keyboard "Launch by Letter" is a great feature - and it could become even greater.

Launch-by-letter with the new held letters is terrific
(used it on my 650 for a while) because it doesn't matter whether a field has focus or not (unlike for the grafitti letters). However, most people will use if for apps. If FastLaunch already launches DAs by letter, I won't go further in that direction, I've no desire to repeat functionallity of every app in existence.

Yes, I wasn't remembering Fastlaunch, but I went and checked and it can launch all types of things.

BUT it's only for Treos and hard keys... I have a T|X and I could use a graffiti-launch-by-letter of accessorized apps... and of DA's...

hi,

I also tried Apt and its great. But I missing one option, or maybe I don't see it. Is it possible to add an option to disable autooff, if there is an open network connection. reason: I read RSS feeds on with my palm. At the morning I let them update all at once. This can take 3 minutes or more. Now the default auto-off-timer is set to 1 min.
Sure I can change the auto-off timer of my rss reader but this is not the same.
Also when I use my chat client. Then it can happens, that there is no activity for 1 min and the device turns off.
(HandyAid has such a option)

Regards
Stefan
