| Accenter 1.00 released Easily enter accented characters for European languages. Just type (or enter with Graffiti) the base letter, and you will see boxes pop up showing possible accents--if you want one, a single press of your PDA's 5-way controller (on Palm/PalmOne/Treo devices; on other devices, other keys need to be used) will select the accented letter you want. If you don't want an accented letter, just keep on typing, and the boxes automatically disappear. This may be the fastest way of typing in German, French, Spanish, Polish, Portuguese and other European languages. You can customize the accent selection.
-Includes accent settings optimized for German, French, Spanish, Polish, Portuguese.
-Can create new accent settings. http://www.mobihand.com/product.asp?id=17389

| The Accenter package at http://pruss.homeip.net/alex/Accenter.zip now includes Swedish.pdb and Programming.pdb (the latter gives you all the ASCII characters not shown on the Treo keyboard, popping up from "related" symbols, e.g., # gives you %, and & gives you | and ^, and so on).

For the Portuguese language, you forgot the U (it does accept accents as well, I believe Ú and Ü only). Since we can edit the language file (nice touch!) it's no big deal. I did in fact manually correct it, and added/removed other characters.
Some suggestions for version 1.1 are:
- allow to disable it for some applications (exception list)
- lock it automatically in NVCache |

| suggestion for 1.1 Allow for copy and paste (menus not disabled) in the edit language mode.
With a broken key, it's a bother to combine all the options one wants.
And shortcuts have been discussed, but treos would welcome them.

Maybe you could try AsciiPop DA http://palmattitude.org/logiciels/download.php?id=532 Quote: |

Maybe you can try TopShortCuts : http://www.mobihand.com/product.asp?id=10178
Maybe there is a freeware alternative, I don't know.
Never tried though.
I know nothing about programming, but I guess restoring shortcuts must be a piece of cake.
No idea why palm removed the shorcuts panel, as it left the shortcuts database in the device memory.
Just try. Thanks to the alt button or any other input system (eg accenter) add the shortcut symbol (eg "s" then "alt" 2 times - at least on my european treo). You can now use the standard shortcuts : dht, ht, de, dt, di, pd, re. (That's the standard for the french palmOS, eg "pd" for "petit déjeuner" (breakfast). Just use the standard shortcuts you are accustomed to)
As there is no more panel, you can't modify or add new one.
Surely, if one restores the panel, thanks to easy access to the shortcut symbol via accenter, it could be a nice improvement.

| For shortcuts (not the same approach, but does the trick and I think it's more powerful), you can use TeikeiDA which is freeware.
Here's an explanation and the download link as the website is in Japanese. http://palmaddict.typepad.com/palma...keida_tips.html
Regards,
