Do new CLIEs coming off the assembly line have the important patches integrated into ROM -- or must buyers still d/l them and use up all that RAM? How can you tell if a unit has the new ROM, if there is a new ROM?
New Cliés never have patches in them. You have to install them. If Sony ever did do this, they would have to have a revision number on every Clié.
Hopefully Brayder will get JackFlash ready for the TH55 soon, so we can take advantage of any free flashROM space. When that happens, you shouldn't have any reason to complain...but then again, with 32Mb of RAM, why are you complaining at all? It's nearly 3 times what I have available in my TG50 (11mb)
Naturally, I'd rather have the patches and use RAM than have a buggy device, but I see where you're coming from.
