UX50, movies - Mac conversion

O.k., so I'm able to record movies and BT them to my Mac (in this case, a G4 running OS 10.2.6); the format is MQV format - which supposedly is a "cousin" to MPEG 4, which Quicktime 6 is able to handle -- but these movie files refuse to open in Quicktime.

Any Mac users using a conversion program or some such that I should be aware of?...

TIA

Use a program called "VLC" (Google for it) to play these movies.

Lightbulb .MQV to .MOV

I'm kinda new to this stuff, but I figured this one out. I email the .MQV to myself, rename it whatever.MOV then open it up with Quicktime 6. It works great. Good luck!

MQV=MOV

I was really surprised at how easy it really was, and also wonder why they wouldn't just make them MOV files to begin with.
