| Just a heads up . . . about Turcic.com I hadn't been there in a couple weeks . . . stopped by last night, and all I can say is WOW! If you haven't been lately you need to stop by! (But they DO require registration!)
Alexander has implemented some new forums, too . . . he now has a forum dedicated to e-books! WOO HOO! A geek/nerd hangout. I LOVE IT!

| Oh, I visit Turcic every once in a while. I really want to like the place, since I'm a great fan of iSilo, but it doesn't seem like the place is well layed out. I usually fumble around for a bit, clicking on a few items and menus, and then leave.

| Well - I am very glad for your feedback
Flash, you're right, the main page kinda sucks.
As you've probably noticed, my focus is currently on the forum. Everything but the forum will soon be removed, and then a portal system similar to the one here at ClieSource will be installed.
If you, or anyone else for that matter has suggestions for more improvements or additions, *please* email me (cs@turcic.com). I am a very flexible person and always open to criticism
Second, my main concern is still lack of user interactivity. The Turcic community grows very fast memberwise, but most users just don't feel like interacting with others. If anyone can come up with a solution for that, I'll be forever thankful to you.
Cheers,
Alex |

| Wow all you have to click on is "Mobile" to see the download link and instructions for the iSilo clippings. Sorry, but how is that so difficult?

| Some people find quite easily through the Turcic pages, yet others don't.
The reason I haven't really done much to the main pages yet is because I was still puzzled over the question how I could make the community more "alive".
First I thought that the forum software wasn't really too intuitive. So I upgraded the software (now same software CS is using). Then I thought that I need more topics related to "mobility". So I added a totally new ebook section along with other newly added subsections.
It is really not easy to make a community "alive", especially when most people just quickly visit to fetch the latest mobile links and disappear again.
A Frustrated Alex. |

| Something I have noticed recently is you added a chat bot to the forums. It's pretty cool, but is there a way to remove those posts from the recent posts list on the main page. I sometimes like to check that to see if theres any new posts, but now they all just seem to be posts relating to the bot.

| cbulock, you don't seriously mean to to shut Chi-Chi down?
Anyways from now on postings related to her won't show up on the main screen anymore.

| Hahaha! The bot! I was reading your forum one time and I saw what chi-chi was saying, this was a while ago, it was complete nonsense but hilarious. I didn't realize it was a bot at the time

Yup Chi-Chi is based on the Alicebot. I admit she isn't the smartest girl out there, but certainly one of the most eccentric. |

| Possibly letting users view the forum before registering will get more people to get involved

| Well the forum has been completely open for the past few months. Only then, when user activitiy was really still low, I forced people to at least register in order to access the "New Links" section (everything else was still open to unregistered users).
Unfortunately, the level of activity was/is still too low to call it a community. Of over 1000 registered members less than 30 members had > 10 postings. On the other hand, the "New Link" section in particular was visited by members over 1,000.000 times.
A few days ago I closed the "New Link" section. Anyone who participates in any way in the forum gets automatic access to the section again. I am not a great fan of such drakonian actions myself, but what else could I do...
