| Bluetooth connection NOT working with Blazer! Locked Blazer on a Treo 680? Locked Blazer on a Treo 680? Bluetooth connection NOT working with Blazer!
Hi.
I own an unlocked AT&T/Cingular Treo 680 with the latest update (Treo680-2.11-ATT).
I formerly used to connect to the internet using a bluetooth access point that I still have (with a T2). Today, I set up a bluetooth connection for my treo 680 to connect to the access point. When I start the connection and establish it I am able to browse the net with xiino, or get the weather with Palmary Clock Wireless, etc... In a sentence, I have an internet connection. BUT, WHEN I GET INTO BLAZER THE BLUETOOTH CONNECTION GETS DISCONNECTED (GETS LOST) AND BLAZER ATTEMPS TO CONNECT TO THE INTERNET USING MY CARRIERīS CONNECTION... IT IGNORES THE ACTUAL BLUETOOTH CONNECTION AND TRIES TO CONNECT TO MY CARRIERīS NETWORK.
I belive the problem is AT&T locking blazer in some way.
Somebody told me that editing the prefs (saved/unsaved prefs) might help.
Anyone can guide me? Browsing the net with blazer is something Iīd like to do.

| Copy the settings for the GPRS or WAP connection that Blazer is opening, into a paper. Then delete that network connection and connect via BT. It should connect. Then create a network connection with the settings you wrote on the paper before. It should stay connected in BT next time you open the BT network connection. When you need GPRS or WAP, just pick it and Connect.
I had to do this in my Centro with the MMS network connection that Blazer opened after closing the BT connection. It works fine now. I also think it's something from the provider, but this workaround worked for me.
Let us know if it also worked for you.
Regards,

| Steps I did
1. Hard Reset my device with NO SIM in the SIM slot
2. Once the hard reset was over, I got into Pref.
3. Then Bluetooth to enable it.
4. In Preferences, I selected Connections:
+ New Connection,
+ Changed the name,
+ Connect to local network,
+ then by bluetooth,
+ then I paired the bluetooth access point and added it to trusted devices.
5. Then in preferences, I selected Network. On Network there was only one connection (since I had no SIM installed when I hard resetted the device): Name "Untitled", connection to "virtual modem", username "blank", password "ask", phone "touch here".
8. I left that network (at first then I deleted and tried again) and created one. I selected the connection created in #4, added the username and password.
9. Then I tapped Connect and after a few seconds, the treo succesfully connected.
10. I tried the internet connection in some apps like Palmary Clock Wireless, Xiino, etc. Those apps were getting an internet connection.
11. Finally, I got into Blazer, a message appears: "The Phone is disconnected, would you like to connect it?" (message tranlated, actual message may vary). NO SIM INSERTED
IF I SELECT NO, BLAZER WOULDNīT BROWSE ANY WEBPAGE
IF I SELECT YES, BLAZER WOULDNīT DISCONNECT FROM THE BLUETOOTH ACCESS POINT BUT WOULD NOT BROWSE THE WEB SIM INSERTED
IF I SELECT NO, BLAZER WOULDNīT BROWSE ANY WEBPAGE
IF I SELECT YES, BLAZER WOULD DISCONNECT FROM THE BLUETOOTH ACCESS POINT AND WOULD CONNECT TO MY CARRIERīS NETWORK (GPRS)
So, no success in using blazer yet.
Any other ideas?
Thank you.

| I can connect via Bluetooth but the phone has to be on, otherwise Blazer won't do it. Try deleting the gprs connection. Maybe it is not possible as many networks send you the settings and they can't be modified.

| GPRS network from the carrier cannot be deleted.
When I said "If I seleted yes,..." in both scenarios SIM inserted and SIM not inserted, the phone ratio would turn on, but would not browse at all or would disconnect from the access point and then would try to connect to the GPRS network, that cannot be deleted.
This is my second phone, in my first I remember having the update previous to 2.11 and with that I was able to connect to the internet: I had to let Blazer navigate just once on the GPRS network and then turn the phone off, connect to the bluetooth connection, enter Blazer and say yes to "your phone is off, would you like to connect it?" and that was it. Last phone wouldnīt disconnect from the access point to connect to the GPRS.
Perhaps that is an issue with the 2.11 AT&T update, but Iīm not sure and I canīt test in AT&T phones not having that update to be sure.

| I tried to use Picsel Browser but I ended up in a reset loop.
Opera mini crashes too much for my taste.
Webpro... sound ok, but where can I get the hacked version?
I just PMed you icefireicefire for instructions on Picsel Browser installation.

| No luck yet Does anyone know how to edit either Saved Preferences or Unsaved Preferences to make Blazer work? (using RsrcEdit perhaps)
Nothing done so far has worked. Any other ideas?
Thanks.
PD: icefireicefire, I PMed you with a problem I had using the link given. PM me for details.
--EDIT--
Picsel Browser + Treo 680 AT&T = Reset Loop.

| I wonder if this is relating to patches discussed in this thread http://www.1src.com/forums/showthread.php?t=115961
There are actually two patches this Japanese developer provides.
1. Patch to HSExtentions. with this, Blazer will not insist on specific carrier.
2. Patch to Blazer that will suppress "voice call in progress" when phone is set to off. |

I guess Iīm closer now to browse using Blazer. BUT...
I still receive the "Voice Call In Progress. You will need to disconnect the voice call before attempting to send or receive data" message.
Iīm using Miniīs patch for HsExtensions V.2.0 and Miniīs patch for Blazer V.1.70 on a Treo AT&T with firmware 2.11. Phone Info reports:
Firmware: R0.1.91
Software: Treo680-2.11-ATT
CC-Cap: ATT-NR1-005
Carrier DB: 510
Hardware: A
I uploaded my files here (see post below)
The generated patched files are uploaded here if you need them: (see post below)
I also posted this on Miniīs thread ( http://www.1src.com/forums/showthread.php?t=115961)

| I suggest you directly get in touch with Mini-san. It appears he is constantly extending / modifying his patches for all kinds of Treo/Centro variations. |

I donīt understand/speak Japanese, so Iīm not sure if he has any contact information in his webpage ( http://usagiya.g-com.ne.jp/mini/)
Do you know a way to contact him?
